      Hi,

Do sec 1 students need laptop ? Does the school arrange for vendors to sell them to students at discount ?

      Thanks.
      Hi,

During the briefing to parents (I can't recall the timeline, sometime during term 1, I think), we were told that that students don't need laptops. I haven't hrd DS mentioning about vendors selling laptops via the school too. However, some students have their own laptops for project work, for convenience, but it's not compulsory.

Hi, does anyone have any contact for private mini van operators to HCI fr Serangoon / Lorong Ah Soo area?

I have called the Gen Office and HCI doesn't have official bus operators. However, it kindly provided a contact based on feedback from parents but the bus uncle is not able to provide the transport as he mentioned that there's a shortage of mini vans due to high COE.

      Thanks :xedfingers:

Hi. When we were at HCI, there is bus transportation booth at the canteen. Somebody also handed out name cards in front of the auditorium. Here are the numbers found in the name card:

School Bus Transport Services 6547 4197
Chan Hian Yong Jonathan 9474 3637
      Lim Kok How 9237 6510

Hi ngl2010, thank you for providing the contact numbers. The contact which HCI provided are the same but the uncle said that currently, there's shortage of mini vans 😢

Hi, can someone pls help with these Qns:

      1) Mary bought some red marbles and have half to Noel.
Noel bought some blue marbles and gave half to Mary.
Mary lost 16 red marbles and Noel lost 55 blue marbles.
The ratio of Mary’s red marbles to blue marbles became 18:55 and the ratio of Noel’s red marbles to blue marbles became 7:20.
How many red marbles did Mary buy?

      2) Container A and B contained some sand.
If 626 5/8 g (six hundred and twenty six & 5/8th g) of the sand is removed from container A, the mass of the sand in container A will be 25% that of the sand in container B.
If 179g of the sand is removed from container B, the mass of the sand in container B will be 58 1/3% (fifty eight and 1/3%) that of the sand in container A.
What is the mass of the sand in container A?

3)There were 846 glasses in a basket. Some of the glasses were found to be broken and thrown away. Of the remainder, 2/3 of the glasses were sold and 1/4 of the glasses was given away. There were 56 glasses left.
      a) how many glasses were sold?
      b) What fraction of the glasses in the basket was thrown away?

      thanks, thanks!

Hi, can someone pls help with these Qns:

      1) on the first day of a camp, there were 240 more boys than girls. On the second day, 20% of the boys left the camp and the number of girls increased by 10%. in the end, there were 42 more girls than boys. How many children were there at the camp on the first day?
      Thanks!

Tianzhu, thks for the explanation. 😂

      Hi

      First day
      Boys ---- 10 units + 240
      Girls ---- 10 units

      Second day
      Boys ---- 8 units + 192
      Girls ---- 11 units

      11 units ------ 8 units + 192 + 42
      1 unit ------ 78

      Number of children@first day ------- 20units + 240 ------- 1800

      Best wishes

Hi, erm... do you mind explaining why do you take 6x + 12 = 40 as 40 is the distance apart and not distance travelled? tyvm.
