My daughter doesnt have any fever at all. The in-charge and teachers simply dun have even basic knowledge of HFMD symptoms. They just replied to you that they are not medical trained, that is.
I’m transferring my kids to Nurture Star where the in-charge told me that they will not do such things and will view by case by case basis.
I totally agreed with you. Even when i bring this up to MCYS, they replied that the school is following MCYS guidelines and MCYS guidelines are derived by MOH medical specialist. I was wondering, the PD that my kids visited is also a medical specialist too. MCYS doesnt dare to admit that there are loop holes in their guidelines which allowed the school to do such unreasonable things to the parents. Somemore can suggest to me that probably if my relationship is gd with the doc, the doc can charge me cheaper after subequent visit or i can bring my kids to see doc before gg to work which will not affect my work or can request from company to give me time off to bring my kids to see doc. What kind of reply is that?

RE: yvonne78
I think most importantly for working parents who put their children in the childcare centre is there is somebody there to take care of their children and allow the children to learn and share and not in turn causing inconveniences to the parents.
I have a bad experience with Cherie Hearts at Jalan Mata Ayer where the school fees are not that cheap either. I have brought my kids to see doc for 5x since 14th Oct 2011 becos one spot/rash/ulcer. The reason the in-charge gave was we are not medical-trained so we need doc advise. Despite the pd that i have visited told me that the centre is over paranoid over this HFMD and they shouldnt ask the parents to bring the kids to see doc just becos one ulcer/rash/spot as child can develop such symptoms becos of many other viruses. Even when she wrote in the letter stating that my daughter is very prone to ulcers and the school should not reject her becos of one ulcer, the school simply ignored it and continued asking me to bring my daughter to see doc for clearance letter when they spotted an ulcer in her mouth. In addition, only till the 5th rejection, the in-charge then claimed to me that Cherie Hearts had this one ulcer policy where i have not heard from the operational in-charge when i enquired her on their HFMD policy.
How can working parents able to accomodate to their needs of bringing their children to see doc becos of one ulcer and just to pass them a doc stating that she is free from HFMD? -
RE: yvonne78
My piece of advice to all is do not choose cherie hearts despite of their 20% off promotion if not, take it at your own risk!!!
I have a bad experience with them. Teachers are not able to speak good english and my daughter picked up slingish from the teachers. Teachers and in-charge told parents of their child misbehaviour infront of the child, reason was to shown to the kid that parents and teachers are communicating. What do you think?
My HFMD experience with Cherie Hearts at Jalan Mata Ayer:
I have to bring my kids to see doc to get clearance letter 5 X since 14th Oct 2011 till now just becos of one spot/rash/ulcer. Despite the pd that i have visited wrote in the clearance letter that my daughter is very prone to ulcer, the centre should not reject her from not going to the centre just becos of one ulcer. The in-charge ignored the advice and only till the 5th rejection, she claimed to be that Cherie Hearts had this one ucler policy. Before that, i did make a call to the management and enquiry on their HFMD policy and the operational in-charge did not mention to me on this one ulcer policy at all. The only thing that they mentioned is we are not medical-trained so we need doc to advise on that.
Parents who have alot of leaves or are able to make other alternative arrangements or your child is not prone to ulcer, can take the risk of enrolling your child to Cherie Hearts. Have checked with cousin and friends who have children in other childcare centre, this thing doesnt happen to them. I'm withdrawing my kids from the centre. -

From my advice, pls do not choose Cherie Hearts.
When i informed the in-charge that I'm withdrawing my 2 kids from the centre at Jalan Mata Ayer becos I found that the quality of teachers are low, the teachers could not speak good english.
Subquently after that, my kids have been rejecting from the centre becos of one ulcer/spot/rash to get clearance letter from a doc. I have visited the doc 5 X from 14th Oct 2011 till now. In regardless that the pd had written in the letter that my daughter was very prone to ulcer and the school shouldnt reject her from going to the school, the centre simply ignore the pd's advice and go ahead requesting parents to bring her to see doc to get clearance letter.
When i called up the management of Cherie Hearts and asked about their HFMD policy, none of them mentioned to me about the one ulcer policy, only till yesterday when i have to bring my daughter to see doc again becos of one ulcer, the in-charge then told me that they have this policy.
If you still want to enrol your child into Cherie Hearts, pls do remember that they have this one ulcer policy or you just have to make sure your child doesnt have any ulcers. This is my piece of advise to you. -

RE: Childcare or no Childcare?
ChozIndulge:
i have 2 children, one 2 and a half yrs old and another abt 6 mths old. i put both of them in the childcare centre as i want them to be independent and they will pick up knowledges faster. as for maid, basically nobody at hm to supervise on her, no trust and faith to leave her with the child.Hi my bb is 14 months now & i would like to get some advice as to whether to put him in child care full day or just those half day school.
Currently my maid is due in Jan next year and i am planning to have another bb plus i am a working mum hence really got no idea which is the best way out coz if i have a bb i will definitely need a maid to help look after the bb & if i were to put him in full day plus a maid expense is really too high..
Any working mum having the same experience please advise!!!
Thank in advance!!
so, my advise is put the newborn to infant care. forget abt the maid. if u need someone to do housework chores, engage part-time cleaner once a week, cheaper too. -
