timtim:If ever have it before orientation, it should be by post. Maybe other parents can comment on this aspect as I try to dig my brain, but still can't remember if it was before or on orientation day. In any case, I don't feel that was a problem or very last minute so it must be ok lah. So just wait and see how it turns out. Cheers!
Hi Timtim, thanks for yr info. Did u receive the booklist by post or the school will inform u to correct fr them?ectanz:
I thought the booklist was given before orientation. Anyway, you will be given few days to buy, not just on that day. Also, it's not at the tiny bookshop. They will setup at another place along the corridor, somewhere near the classroom where the uniform vendor sells uniforms, to allow parents to buy books. The area is more spacious and not so cramp. The book vendor already pre-packed everything (according to P1 booklist) into a neat box. If you have nothing to add/remove, just pay, take and go. It's pretty straightforward. For me, I ask them to remove the Pic Dict, which was not required by school.
You may also order your textbook from the vendor online and collect another day. You will be given instructions to do so.
If I recall correctly, last year the book list we only got on the orientation day. That's because my Hubby and I forgot to bring extra $$$ to pay for books, uniform, shoes etc etc... We were digging into wallets to empty out whatever dollar notes we had.. in the end we opted to go for the book ordering online and pay for a delivery fee to have the books sent to the home.. saves us a lot of hassle on collecting the books.. just need to be careful to select correct school online as the bookshop company services many schools.
