RGPS received. Need to buy Toto and 4D today.

The 55 are all SC. They advised foreigners and PR not to apply at the gate.

I do not suppose you buy TOTO or 4D 😂

It's also a case that many of those 55 did not know that the odds are ~9x, and some had in their mind the ~3x odds for last year. Even if you wanted to find out more info yesterday, it was very tough on the ground this year in many schools, including RGPS.

My personal sense is that the cutting of seats in schools (due to lower birth rate) cause some unintended ripple effects across the whole spectrum for this year. For a start, never assume lower base year is always to your advantage.

Anyway, 1 in 9 still better than Toto and 4D odds. Huat Ah! :moneyflies:

Heard that MOE guidelines for the schools is not to reveal the breakdown of applicants, just refer everything to MOE website.

The odds for >2km is ~9x this year compared to ~3x last year. And that for a much lower base snake year vs dragon and stable boy-girl ratio year on year. Historical data stats can only take you so far :heresmyfish:

Whats the current no for 1-2 km? Is there a risk to ballot? How many more places to ballot? I rather find another school... Stress now.. Counting down

ballot for RGPS is only for SC > 2 km.
For SC (1-2km) : no need to worry

This year is very tough... As a kiasu parent, I cannot totally reveal the current numbers. Just be mentally prepared for 2Cs if > 2km. Some 1-2km applicants are also on the ground, contemplating.

I called RGPS, they only say \">2km need to ballot\". My guess is that the odds would be better than last year of 30%, probably 50% this year.
This is a wrong assumption. I was also surprised. Anyway, just be mentally prepared to exercise 2Cs for those sticking to balloting at RGPS.

I agree with Veyron, \"real time\" data will never really be real time. The consequence is only to make the whole process even more stressful for some parents who spent 24-7 watching the numbers. There's beauty in incomplete information, chaos and uncertainties - that's the beauty of life :imcool:

It is difficult to monitor stats from school because I do not think the school gets real time data from online registration. So it’s quite a shot in the dark. No point waiting until last day, worst is you do not know how many parents really think they can game the system by registering last day in school, then you appear at a "choice" school and see more than a hundred waiting in queue … and it’s also too late to register online then.
