    • RE: Singaporean mom relocating fm USA back to SG saying Hi!

      hi! thanks for your advice.

yes it will be by descent. as i understand, she can hold dual citizenship until she turns of majority age to decide which to maintain.

      hi again

does it matter if DD1 is a SGcit already? Or should I wait till she gets her citizenship before I go and see the schools of choice principals regarding placement? I believe DD1 should have no problem getting approved for citizenship but I was told by ICA that the process would take between 2 or 3 months.

      thanks again.

if your decision has been to convert to citizenship, then do it asap and also concurrent to your school hunting. let the principals know that your girl is going through the procedure of getting her citizenship (by descent ?)

also, is there is a link where i can see experiences of parents who did placement by choice via assessment test, instead of balloting?

      thanks

i dont know where to post my questions, so i am posting them here. pls advice if there is somewhere else i should post.

i read under RGPS wehsite an Immersion Program is available for children from overseas. Can someone explain what this is about? How long is the immersion for? Does it lead to a longer term placement?

agreed that she should start in Jan, a brand new school year here. you may want to call up some good schools and let her do the assessment and see how she can fit into the local environment.

my spouse is american i did look at intl schools. firstly, they are very expensive. secondly, i wd like to expose my daughter to chinese education and local immersion. so i think i will prefer to place her in a local primaary school.
