Rejoin:Are you a tutor by the way? From your posts, it looks like you don't want to pay $50 for the tutor. So be it, then walk away from it. Willing buyer, willing seller.
Tutors aren't having the \"easiest\" time, contrary to popular belief.
10 years ago, the \"market rate\" for JC tuition was $45/hour for Uni grads. 10 years later, it is still $45/hour. Talk about inflation.
Any idea what $45 can buy these days?

+1. Totally agree with you on this one.Actually I moonlighted as a tutor in Hongkong. Life was not all that easy. Most parents were reasonable but some of them would cancel as many as a month of lessons on a few hours notice. Suddenly I was looking at a long period when I would not be paid, plus had no chance of looking for a new assignment.
I think that trust is a crucial element between the tutor and parents. Anyone who tries to exploit the other is shameful. At the same time, both parties should be mindful that emergencies can crop up. -

Same here...now that my kids are older, I will not stand for anymore nonsense if they both feedback same comments. No more crap or attitude problems.
zbear:
It's a give and take thing.
Correct. Both tutors n parents have to be fair n responsible.
I had a tutor who was very responsible in the first year of engagement, when I continue his service for the second year, he started to change his attitude. I peservered although my kids feedback to me that he is getting lousy. I tolerated him for 1 year n finally gave up. I felt spammed by him.
Now I tell myself - I am not going to be Mrs Nice. Once my kids complained, I will terminate the tutor immediately. We don't have the time, $$$ n patience to stand tutor's nonsense.
Trust the kids. They are our first line of feedback. -

Wow, such arrogance coming from a tutor.
If she is that good, why would she need to tie you down with a hefty upfront payment? -
RE: Single or Married Maids Better?
My neighbour's maid is married, but extremely flirtatious. She even flirts with elderly old men when no one is watching
:faint:
Reminds me of a seductive maid who lived in my block 1 year ago. She even gets hanky panky with Secondary school boys around the estate. Her employer sent her packing after she was seen by her neighbours.
