Mind sharing you were from which school? Heard a Jurong neighbourhood school also churned out 20+ got >260 and 3 obtained >270. So remarkable!

But not my dc’s school around River Valley. Some cried in disappointments after getting their results.

Is it just me or are the psle scores very low this year? A friend's daughter who is good at her studies but not the exceptional type, I was expecting her to get 240+ but she got 231. Another friend's son I expected a 260+ but he got 254. I wonder what happened to the kids.
i don’t think so? i’m not very good in my studies and didn’t study as much as i planned to but i got 244 .. and then 2 of my good friends expected 255-258 only but 1 got 256 and the other got 262! and 2 girls in my school got 270+, and much more got 250-269 .. so maybe it depends on the school ??

If your niece prefers girls' schools, I would recommend: CHIJ St. Theresa's Convent (238), CHIJ St. Joseph's Convent (237), Paya Lebar Methodist Girls' School (Secondary) (237), Tanjong Katong Girls' School (237), Geylang Methodist School (Secondary) (231).

If your niece prefers co-ed schools, I would recommend: Kuo Chuan Presbyterian Secondary School (238), Presbyterian High School (236), Zhonghua Secondary School (236), Temasek Secondary School (235), Tanjong Katong Secondary School (234), Xinmin Secondary School (234).

      Hope this helps!

      Sahimi:

Can we calculate our own T-score base on school prelim result?

You can do a projection of the T-score based on your child's school prelim results.

It can only be served as a reference. Plus-minus 10 points within the projection is quite usual.

Don't need to give yourself too much stress, everything is already carved in stone since the day he/she was born. :boogie:

I don’t send my children to after school care centre. From what I saw, there are quite a number of students attend the school’s compound student care every year. It is not under school management and privately manage by outside operator.

I heard some parents who send their kids to the student care nearby. It’s called My Childhood Place Education Center Pte Ltd, 9666 8451. They are satisfied with the centre in terms of guiding hw, food, nap and play time.

      Hope this info helps.

Hi all, anybody has any experience/review on the afterschool care at River Valley Primary? How is the experience? How is it compared to some of the other external afterschool care center closely? Appreciate any insight. Thanks a lot!

Any running track in the school compound?

      Thanks
The school starting time is always 7.30am except Thursday’s where it’s late day (for normal years) but since there’s COVID there’s no more late day so everyday will start at 7.30am. Dismissal timings are not confirmed and varies with timetable, usually around 1.30, but sometimes it’s 12.30 or 2.30[/quote]

      Hi libran269,

Currently, I have 2 children in RVPS. Elder one is sitting for PSLE now, last paper will be next wed (HMT), thus PSLE Results 2020 will only release in late Nov 2020. 🙂

According to P, last year PSLE batch was the best cohort with 20% scored 250 n above. About 85 or 88% went into express stream.

However, hope this year batch performs even better than last year batch.

Nearby Alps heard is good too.

    • RE: DSA 2020 - NUSH

      Hi phtthp,

Thanks for your prompt reply. I do get the picture now. If my DC gets in IP school, we’ll definitely stick to it till A level exams.

The reason why DC tried SST DSA coz saw the computing subjects offered by SST, when I think again actually my DC can get computing, coding & programming courses externally.

My DC is determined to study till Uni so instead of 2 national exams, why not just sit for 1 major national exams? That’s my thought.

Of course, I will sit down with my DC n chill over cappuccino + cheesecake n discuss on this again once PSLE is over in few days time. 🙂

Once again, thanks n happy belated mid autumn festival !
