      crystal mom:
      Hi!!

I need solution to the following maths problems:
      1. \tAnne has five more 20 cents coins than 50 cents coins. The total amount of money she has is $4.50. How many of each coin does she have?
      Hi

Another way is to use the \"Grouping concept\"

For five 20 cents coins, we have$1.

      4.5 – 1 – 3.5

Consider a set or group of 20 cents coin and 50 cents coins. This gives a total of 70 cents.

      5 groups will give $3.50

      Hence, we have

      10 20 cents coins

      5 50 cents coins

      Best wishes

Kate had 120 beads less than Connie. Connie had 230 beads left after giving 80 beads to Kate. How many beads did they have altogether?

          Beads at start:
          Connie: 1 unit
          Kate: 1 unit - 120

          Beads in the end:
Connie 230 (after giving 80 to kate)

In order to find Connie at start, we add back 80.

          230+80=310

          Kate at start: 310 - 120 = 190

          Total at start: 190 + 310 = 500

          Hope that helps.

Amy and Betty shared 200 cookies. After Amy ate 30 cookies and Betty baked another 28 cookies, they had the same number of cookies. How many cookies did Betty have at first?
