it is obvious that the schools will select the best. All above 80% can apply but probably the top 5% get it. Will try ds try for 2 schools, if can’t get in, will have to based on T-scores. Z

80% is to set a minimum scoreline. after that its the GAT performance, Tests Performance and Interview that matters....

Qualifying is 80% for academic. No mention of top 5% of level or whatever so where did that come from? Perception?

Students who are from GEP with average 80% and above will be exempted for GAT for RGS, NYGH and RI, if I remember correctly.

Top 5% of whole level is by past years observation by reading this threat. 😂

If comparing only GEP, then that might be true, as GEP students will most likely form top 5% of the school anyway.

If non-GEP, then my feel is that the top 5% might not be that true.....example being in NYPS top maybe 30 - 40% might be even be equal to top 10% of other schools....

Anyway no harm trying, my DS got 2 COs even with results at 80% marks..... 🙂

May I ask, what is CO?

For those \"top\" secondary schools (RGS, NYGH, NJC etc), what should be the range of marks a student should get if they choose to go through DSA through their academic results? What marks should they often be getting so they still \"got chance\"?

I would say above 85 average score and top 5% of whole level.

                  :thankyou:

Not necessarily. The top few schools may do that but others may cast their nets wider, knowing that the very top kids still prefer the top schools.

For RGS, from DD experience they target the top 3% of Singapore P6 girls from an academic perspective. DSA academic slots are mostly taken by GEP kids. For sports DSA, your DD will need to be Nationally ranked top 3 or so with International and National tournament experience and fare well in those tournaments.

                      😄

                        Oh… Another useful info…

For non DSA entry, last year’s RGS COP was 263. However, there were a few DDs who appealed successfully with 262 PSLE scores.
