khs and tkps is within 1km, gmps is just outside 1km radius, naps is more than 2km......

Monitor the situation in TKPS. There was balloting last year for those in the 1-2 km category during P2C, whereas previously, the school had vacancies in P2CS.

Hence, if TKPS doesn't require balloting in P2C, you might as well try KHS in P2C and TKPS in P2CS. If TKPS requires balloting in P2C, it is better to go for this school in P2C. I assume that should TKPS go into balloting in P2C, it will be for those staying beyond 1 km from the school, which means that your child's place in this school is assured.

but i know i want a school where my kids can at least enjoy their lower pri years and not be pushed into the rat race from day 1 of pri 1.

any suggestions?

I am in the same boat. people have adviced me on against a \"rat-race\" school if you want your child to have a enriching primary school life.

Personally, I think you haven't shortlisted a school that definitely has vacancies in P2CS. TKPS, initially, seemed to fit in this category until last year. So, maybe last year was an outlier?

KHS is a SAP school, so students will take Higher Chinese from P1. Is this a concern to you?

My rationale: if I need to go through sleepless nights in anticipation of the balloting, I might as well go through it for a school that is as near to my house as possible. Of course, this viewpoint disregards the chance of getting into the school. When it comes to luck, nobody is certain, right? Your child may be one of the 99 vying for 100 places but who is very certain that you will not end up as the only one out (touch wood)? If you base purely on last year's statistics, it seems like your best bet will be with GMPS.

eunos n macpherson is out of my radar based on distance n gut feel.

not too keen on KHS cos i dun like the high CL std n feedback fr neighbours is lots of hwk....

it seems to me that the risk of ballot at P3C is getting higher by the years. I used to think that I can try KH at P3, if cannot, then go for TKPS or GMPS at P3C. Now my worry is if i try KH and fails to get in, I may end up in Eunos pri or Macpherson pri which is too far.


anyone has heard feedback abt GMPS? Most of my neighbours kids are in KH. Had been told not easy there, which is another worry.
