Hainanese Chicken Rice

MMM:
Yes Wee Nam Kee at Novena is good. I still prefer Boon Tong kee at Balestier but during our last visit, there was flying cockroach in the restaurant. It created alot of commotion as it was flying aimlessly and non stop. :!: The staff couldn't catch it at all.
Over at Serangoon garden, the chicken rice stall (same stretch as pow sing) also has long queue as well but I've not try it before.
flying cockroach
did you get to dine free that night? -
haha no.... in fact we had asked for the bill just before it happened. Bad timing :x

My best chicken rice.
1. Downtown East level 2, Mr Chicken Rice (DIE DIE MUST TRY!!!). Chef also the owner previously from Mandarin Hotel chatterbox at Orchard. Used to sell at $18 per set. The last time I went there (Meritus Mandarin Hotel - new name) to eat was 4-5yrs back but the standard drop so never go back again. Maybe bcos the chef left and opened his own shop at Downtown East.
2. Swee Kee (i think thatβs the right name) at Purvis Street (MUST TRY!!!), a very old shop house but with aircon. Also have steamboat. Very packed during weekends and dinner time. -

Ah...Chatterbox chef has turned Mr Chicken Rice in the East... I used to love Chatterbox too during dating time...but the last trip there with family, it did not seem so good..no wonder. And when we were there...there was an Indo family next to us...think their bill came up to $200+ for chicken rice alone!! *gulp*My best chicken rice.

:? Huh? Thought that the swee kee has been there for eons...same as the Yet Con just across the street - ooh I love the old style \"ambience\"...can almost imagine myself kiao-kah-ing
Personally I like Chin Chin - the family who'd migrated to Perth (remember running over to have one last meal) then ah toh (grandma) and ah kong cannot take Oz country so came back. Yeah! -

You mean all these on Purvis Street? I always zoom in and zoom out in that street...never have enough time to sit and eat. I eat more on Seah Street but I know Purvis has many interesting makan places when I zoomed past it.:? Huh?
