DSA 2013

From my understanding, we can only select / confirm / accept 1 CO before a certain deadline period.
No changes (to school choice) allowed, even if we qualify to go to a better school upon receiving PSLE results. -

At the end of the exercise, all the CO and WL will be centralised at MOE, and they will provide a form to you via the primary school with a listing of your offers. You will have to fill up and submit. You can put the WL as first choice, CO as second....What happens if I apply for 2 schools for DSA and my first choice gives me a WL and 2nd choice gives me a CO?
Can I opt for first choice to wait and then hold on to CO? -

By the way, after you accepted an offer, no transfer of school is allowed, irregardless of psle scores, or whatever…

The result of CO or WL of various schools will be out in aug but we need to confirm our choices after PSLE and before result release . this is usually in oct or late September . -

33mama, yes you can. What happens if I apply for 2 schools for DSA and my first choice gives me a WL and 2nd choice gives me a CO?

If your 1st choice school which is a WL has vacancy (after students gave up their COs) then the school will convert the WLs to COs. (depends on vacancies & where you stand in the WL. Last year HCI has WL1 & WL2 - WL1 has higher chance of converting to COs) Again, this is only possible if you choose it as 1st choice. The schools will stress to parents/students to put them as 1st choice if you're really interested to join.
In the event that you are not given your 1st choice, you will be given your 2nd choice which is a CO.
Submission of DSA choices will be after PSLE exams. You can opt not to accept the CO (by not putting it as a choice) if you are sure you will do well in PSLE to be accepted by your dream school via S1 posting. This is important because once your accepted the CO from your 2nd choice school you are not able to appeal to your dream school even if you meet the COP of your dream school. So please exercise your option with care.
You will know which school you are being posted to on PSLE result day.
Please note that having CO from a school does not guarantee you a place if your PSLE result did not meet the express stream minimum score, which is TScore 200. Do refers to individual school's website for exact requirement. -
And those who have multiple COs and have already confirmed which one they want, it would be a nice and good gesture to free up the other COs earlier by informing the respective schools.
This way, the schools can convert some of the WL into COs and take the weight off the kids and parents. I’m not sure how many schools do that but there were school which did that, ie, early conversion to CO. -

ACSI did that. ACSI offer letter had a paragraph asking parents who have already decided to take up CO from another school & not ACSI to fill up, sign & inform the Sch early so that they can convert the WL to CO & save some parents/kids the agony. During the tea session, the principal made that appeal as well. Personally, I was rather touched. And those who have multiple COs and have already confirmed which one they want, it would be a nice and good gesture to free up the other COs earlier by informing the respective schools.

If I remember correctly, VS require students/parents to confirm CO acceptance before a certain date to the school. And those who have multiple COs and have already confirmed which one they want, it would be a nice and good gesture to free up the other COs earlier by informing the respective schools.
