This way, the schools can convert some of the WL into COs and take the weight off the kids and parents. I'm not sure how many schools do that but there were school which did that, ie, early conversion to CO.

ACSI did that. ACSI offer letter had a paragraph asking parents who have already decided to take up CO from another school & not ACSI to fill up, sign & inform the Sch early so that they can convert the WL to CO & save some parents/kids the agony. During the tea session, the principal made that appeal as well. Personally, I was rather touched.

If I remember correctly, VS require students/parents to confirm CO acceptance before a certain date to the school.

Can I opt for first choice to wait and then hold on to CO?

33mama, this question was asked before, nevertheless, yes, you should still put your first choice down, even it is WL; cos, at time of confirmation, some WL will convert into CO; even if WL does not become CO, your CO for second school is secured.

Those who have multiple COs can only choose one as their choice. But some schools will actually call and ask you whether you will accept CO or not, so indeed, it's good to let school know as early as possible.

If comparing only GEP, then that might be true, as GEP students will most likely form top 5% of the school anyway.

If non-GEP, then my feel is that the top 5% might not be that true.....example being in NYPS top maybe 30 - 40% might be even be equal to top 10% of other schools....

Anyway no harm trying, my DS got 2 COs even with results at 80% marks.....

Hi! May I know if the 80% refers to overall average or the specific subject of which domain your DS applied for? Base of P6 SA1 or previous years? Thx...
