      Hi!

Appreciate if any parents can recommend interesting Chinese storybooks for a lower pri?
I m quite at a loss what kind of books to buy for my kid now as he seems to be \"stuck in the middle\".. he is not into those thick wordy books by China authors like 杨红樱 and he is def over picture books.

Hv anyone tried Roald Dahl books in Chinese??... Wondered if it is as friendly as the English version but i have come across translated books (EL->CL) that i find alittle \"weird\"...

Btw i seem to remember reading a thread on parents recommending Chinese books but I cant find the thread...

      :thankyou:!!!!

      Hi iLoveChubby

My DD enjoyed this book called 二年级的花太郎. You could order from dangdang if you are planning to get some books from them.

Another series that has been recommended by her school teacher is 君伟上小学series. Planning to just buy from her school book fair as I understand these are by a Taiwanese author, not sure if dangdang sells them.

      Hi Busymom!
Thanks for your recommendation!...Will check out 二年级的花太郎.
I thk the 君伟上小学series come in 6 books, 1年级 to 6年级... ever seen that in e library, looks pretty friendly... ya DD does have them.
I ever bought 小屁孩日记 series, q funny too.

                      I found this in Amazon.com

Saw only French and Spanish - Les P'Tites Poules. Author is Christian Jolibois.

Not sure if this is a repeat but I do like the book 牙齿大街的新鲜事. It’s about 2 bacteria who live in someone’s mouth and the fun they get up to. Good to teach kids about importance of oral hygiene. Unfortunately, the English version is out of print (and NLB also don’t have Eng version).

Also bought 肚子里有个火车站 - same author/series (Dangdang sells both as a set also). it’s about digestive system. Kids didn’t take to this title as much - probably becos I’m not a very good reader.
