      Hi coffeemilk,

      My boys are in P1-9.

I remember they mention to bring the 1A workbooks for all subjects as well as a story book for reading. I think I will also pack some exercise books, the textbooks 1A and handbook.

Also remember to bring the name tag order to submit to the teacher.

        Hi mmpiglet,

        Thanks for the reply.

At least now I know what to pack in the bag.

I’m a student in the school, (graduated 2009) and I can tell you that the life here isn’t stressful at all. Compared to top and elite schools, we’re simply slacking, and this year, the top scorer only turned out to be 257 (thats me, and I cried hysterically in spite of everyone’s surprise).

Hence, even if you have gotten a perfect result record in the school, I fell that you should still continue to work hard, despite being the "top student" of the school.
PS: My prelim score was 276, and that was why i cried so loudly. Basically, everyone’s score dropped from prelim’s score, by 10-25 marks.

            Hi coffeemilk,

            My boy is in P1-3.

Btw, do you guys know how to do for PE?
            - pack PE attire in bag to change?
            - wear PE attire in place of uniform for entire day?
            - wear PE attire with uniform inside? (think he'll look weird)

PE is like for 3 days per week and DS1 is telling me that he needs to wear his PE attire in place of uniform tomorrow cos they are not allowed to change into attire just before PE starts.

It's weird for me cos PE is like 3 lessons after Recess.
Plus I dunno if he even knows how to get himself changed at all.

PS: He went for one pee and didn't know how to tuck in his shirt, so shirt was not properly tucked in after that one toilet trip. :faint:

              Hi xxjustakidxx,

I think 257 is a real decent score, if you ask me.
Don't worry, it's only PSLE. You have alot more shots at the major examinations and I think O and A levels/Diploma matter alot more than PSLE.

To me, I think it's most important that the child enjoys school instead of drilling on results. It makes studying so painful, isn't it?

Btw, I scored only 213 for PSLE then but scored As and Bs throughout my studies after that.

                Hi Winth,

For PE days, I just let my son wear PE attire for the whole day. I have observed the other children, and they are also in their PE attire when school ends.

                  Hi coffeemilk,

                  Thanks.
That’s what DS1 told me too but it is simply illogical that a school don’t mind them not wearing uniform to school. Weird lar…

I’ve written a note to the form teacher via the student handbook. If I get reply, will update here.

                      Hi winth,

I also let the boys wear PE attire for whole day. In the handbook though, it did mention that the students have to change to uniform after PE during recess.

I made some enquiries with my neighbours whose children are in P3, they said that they let them wear PE attire. They find it a hassle to change into uniform and their children even wear somebody’s uniform home. So they just heck care about the rule.

My ds in another school wears her PE attire under the pinafore. So I thinks its ok to wear PE attire to school.

                        Hi,

Do you know when chinese spelling will be changed to 漢字聽寫?
It’s getting very frustrating trying to teach DS1 漢語拼音 and English Spelling. It gets very confusing for boy, plus i’m not so much into 拼音.

Does it revert back to the traditional chinese words by end of this year???
