I was shocked when he asked me to send him to tuition centre and mention to me that all his classmate attended tuition. What should I do now?

Any recommendation for tuition centre around sembawang area.

I think standards in school are getting harder. Alot of my friends' kids are also facing the same problem.

If you don't want to jump into tuition straight away, why don't you try to analyze what his weaknesses are and whether you can help him at home? His teachers should be able to tell you. It could be that the way he has been studying in the earlier years is not suited to the questions in P5. You can also ask him what it is about tuition that he thinks will improve his grades, and whether it's really necessary. How will he (and you) feel if tuition doesn't help?

P3 DS just told me only 4 of his classmates got Maths Band 1 for this SA1! One got 3/100!I am like :yikes: So you say..is it hard?

I think 4 classmates getting band one is still something optimistic. My dd’s class, she said her teacher told the class only 5 passed. You say leh?

So at P6, is it common? Why do schools make life so hard?

In her case, might be because she is in the last few classes… so mebbe she is not the only one who is learning things slower. After that revelation, I am not optimistic that she is one of five who passed.
