My daughter is in Raffles, I can't say which one, and I think that there is no use for DSA, as he/she did not even try out for any. I think that you should just study hard, and go to a school with your PSLE results. πŸ™‚

Which of the following can be put under achievements for DSA academics?

          Edusave scholarship
          2nd place in class (sa2) in p2
          participation/credit for ICAS

Also if the above are put in for DSA plus the academics results are still above average like maybe top 1-10 in the best class is the chance for MGS IP? If not then got chance for what school? Also if want to DSA via academics will it help if CCA/Arts awards are included?

Believe MGS dsa is really competitive, with the cohort of only 60 and dsa intake really small

Both your daughters got 270, right? So congrats. I supposed it is to rgs...Cannot be RI lah...

Maybe you are blessed with exceptionally intellegent DDs, thus little pressure... DSA offers an alternative avenue for entry into a desired institution of choice and entry via dsa is not easy, not as easy as many think..

By the way, desired schools are not only raffles, there are many others, for various reasons and objective....

Are you saying your dd obtained a certification of participation and/or credit in the ICAS tests? If so, that is not an achievement. Achievement is when you score High Distinction or Distinction. P2 results are also not significant as the schools will consider P5/P6 results.

Agree with dreamgear, DSA is not easy, Ive seen some with high scores ie 270 above and tried DSA for Raffles. They failed to get into Raffles and was given a very nice letter to go by PSLE posting instead. They can jolly well make it on their own.
Last year I notice they took in girls with talent in sports and of course good reasonable academic results.

                        Just a few questions:

                        1) what should be the requirements for sby that is going to DSA via academics to IP Schools in the 255 range? What should be the average marks overall?

                        2) For the GAT do you just need to pass to qualify for the next round?

                        3) Also, what is the chance of a mainstream pupil that is in the top 10% of the school that is going to DSA via academics to RGS/RI/HCI/NYGH and only has a few achievements?

                        4) Will it help by including CCA/Sports in the portfolio if you are going to DSA via academics?
