Hi I have 2 questions and need the answer via model diagrams/explanation.

Mrs Toh bought some chocolates to distribute to her class. If each child gets 2 chocolates, she would be left with 40 chocolates. If each child gets 4 chocolates, she would need 30 more chocolates.
a)\tHow many children are there in her class
b)\tHow many chocolates did Mrs. TOH have at first

Miss Lim bought a packet of sweets to distribute to her class. If each child gets 3 sweets, she would be left with 30 sweets. If each child gets 4 sweets, she would need 5 more sweets.
a)\tHow many children are there in the class
b)\tHow many sweets did Miss Lim have at first.

        Hi,

        There is a dedicated thread @ http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=149&start=2250
So, less work for the mods.

Coming back to the questions, you can read Tianzhu's solution to another similar type of question @ http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1000745#p1000745

        Regards

            Hi Harini5

I can’t find my slides for similar questions done previously.

As requested, I’ve done another slide showing the MD for Q1.

When students are able to understand the logic behind the solution, MD might not be necessary.

Follow the same logic and you should be able to solve Q2, the answers are 35 and 135.

            Hope this helps.

            Best wishes
