I didn't see any magazine and yalkult form in my gal bag...only the handbook.Hi Snowflake and Tri-mum
So nice of Mrs Gerry Ong to send emails to the parents. Had to only rely on the timetable and whatever I can find in my gal's school bag for mine.
My gal also received her handbook and timetable plus both the magazine & yakult subscription form.
My gal's having CME class today. After some thinking, finally realised that CME = Chinese Moral Education. So you should be able to find it in the stack of pre-packed books by the bookshop. My kiddo later confirmed when I showed her the cover of the book and she said \"yes, yes, teacher said to bring this\"
Anyway, other acroynms that both DH and I figured out: HE= Health Ed, SS= Social Studies, MU = Music
Are you all attending the meet-the-teachers session on 14 Jan? Wondering what would the teachers have to say since school just started
What's parent's meeting day? what time? Can you PM Mrs Ong's email address to me? I think I've missed quite a bit of information here. :stupid:

Hi Tri-mum,
ok, relax… breathe. Don’t bang your head against the wall yet.
The info on the parent/teacher meeting is on a letter by Mrs Poey the principal. It is a 2 page thing. In the first page, she explains/implores the parents to drop off the kids outside the gate and not inside the school compound unless it is raining and other basic expectations that she has already mentioned during Orientation (e.g no illegal parking, no loitering in school compound , parents cannot go inside classroom etc…) On the 2nd page, there is like a calendar of activities and then there is a attendance form for the parent/teacher meeting (meeting not compulsory). For P1 and P2, it is on 14 Jan from 6-7pm (or is it 7.30). Basically for the teachers to explain the class operations.
You should probably receive the letter today /tomorrow since there is still time. Probably letter issued out in batches.
Not to worry ya!
Cheers

Hi SnowflakeMy dd is in 1 Grace and yesterday (Tues) she brought home her 2010 pupil's handbook with timetable and instructions on what to bring for class today (Wed) and next tue neatly written down
Can anyone confirm if they have the CME book amongst the parcel of P1 books pre-packed by the school bookshop for purchase during orientation?? my dd has CME class today and i am unable to locate the book in the parcel...wonder if bookshop has accidentally omitted to pack it in.
Also I've received an email from P1 Grace class teacher Mrs Gerry Ong Tue morning which itemises all the detailed instructions - very helpful in double-checking what my girl tells me/has forgotten to tell me....
Also, any feedback regarding the YMCA student care & external tuition provider (NASCANS) is appreciated.
Your girl is very lucky to have Mrs Ong as her Form Teacher. This teacher updates parents frequently.
This helps a lot cos every time when i can't get any answer from my daughter i really don't know what to do cos they usually need the things the next day and i have no one to confirm. My girl's Form Teacher also the super busy one that seldom updates at all and very difficult to reach at times too. Again, is her P2 F Teacher this year.... =( -

Hi Tri mum
Your gal is so blessed to have such a good and dedicated teacher.
Don't know much about my kid's FT yet since there is no communication from her so far. Haiz! That's why must attend the meeting on 14 to understand her expectations better.
All I know from my kid is that her FT is quite fierce.
Hope my kid will not get into her bad books as she is the vocal and stubborn type.
So far, I am still very happy with the school and the principal. I think for the fact that her emphasis is on the moral /character development of her charges already sets her apart from many of those who just bandy the school's past academic achievements as the main focus. And I was very touched when I saw her helping to regulate the traffic on the 1st day of school. Wow, that's what I call a hands-on/humble principal. Kudos to her. -

I felt exactly the same !!!!! I did what you did too cos can't find out what exactly the teacher want them to do and furthermore not easy to reach the Form teacher to verify at all unless i kept calling......
