GEP - General Syllabus Discussion

Flowermonaster:
Thanks flowermonaster. *sigh* but dd only did vy well for maths and EL & HCL barely make it. Now so worried for her. Don't know how she can cope in T3&4.
No worry lah blessmum4, still can dsa as most kids will score > 80% for other core subjects to get ave 80%. For kids who still cannot get ave 80% just need to take GAT. Most if not all will pass GAT. P6 result determine whether need to take GAT not P4/P5.blessmum4:
Yes. A lot of them score below the passing mark of 28.
So does it means these GEPers can't go for DSA anymore?
Since they need to score average of 80 for the core subjects...?

Don't worry too much, still got T3/4 to make up the difference. For your info, in P6 CL mark is use to apply for DSA not HCL to make up the ave 80%. So your DD should be ok. :snuggles:

HCL is also another killer paper. DD’s best fren did not make it. Below 30. At the verge of tears.

And it seems that all GEP students are exempted for nygs! Of course still need to attend interview... And this thing with maintaining average of 80 from P4 to P6, this is important for getting selected in the end?

I was told by the tr during last yr PTM that p5 results is the deciding factor for gat. -
sleepy:
CL paper 2 result is horrible too. Any idea what is the median score?
Agree with blessedmum4 and GiftedGem. The result is horrid as those who did well last year, came unexpected. Now that sch doesnt release the median, it is difficult to guage. -
meekopeeko:
meekopeeko, P5 EOY & P6 result determines that. I personally think P4 result is not critical. My DS didnt get 80%(though very closed to it) in P4 but he successfully got COs for all the schools he applied to. Think most schools just need P5 & P6 result to be submitted. So my best bet is try to do well in P5/ P6 & of course the DSA interview.

Will keep this in mind, thank you flowermonaster! Btw P4 language papers also not easy...
Let me just share something here, look under 'selection process', states that all GEP and APMOPS platinum and gold winners are exempted from GAT! or is it misunderstanding due to my bad grammar, or is it their bad grammar?
