并且 and 而且 are usually interchangeable. Also, 而且 can begin a sentence, 并且 usually can’t.



而且 is very commonly used in spoken language
并且 is vey few used in spoken language
the meaning is a little different
而且 is a complement to the sentence before, something like, "not only, but also"

并且是并列关系，而且是递进关系。

The difference is that one uses the right hand to write while using the left hand to hold the apple, the other uses the left hand to write while using the right hand to hold the apple.

Thought of another question. Please help. If the difference is about the emphasis, when should I use the first sentence to focus on writing and when to use the 2nd line to focus on fruit?

My question like very silly but curious to know.

I guess if the rest of the compo has little or nothing to do with eating the apple, then you use the 1st sentence. The 2nd part of the sentence is probably not necessary but it adds 3D effect to the scene.

Just to clarify again to make sure I understand. If I’m unhappy that 姐姐 is not concentrating on her work I should use 姐姐一边写字，一边吃水果。
