All About Full-Time Maids

POA Teacher:
Thanks for your response. I also find it contradicting hence I thought if the intend is to make reference to the period, then just point direct to the clause.Am not knowledgeable about this, but from reading the above extracts, it's clear to me that something's wrong. Para 5.3 is about returning the FDW to agency (which can happen only AFTER the FDW has been \"placed to the employer\", but Para 5.1 is about the period BEFORE the FDW has been \"placed to the employer\".
Wah!! how can the refund be based on placement fee of 2 mths' salary, when the amount of the fee paid to them is many months' salary.
The agency gave you a copy of the contract in advance? I tired asking for that before, but all agencies, except one, refused. Of course I took the maid from that agency. But that was years ago.
Yah, they have to give coz the employer is my grandpa (not at the EA when we went) while I'm the sponsor. -
Any reliable maid agencies to introduce?

I use only Nations (Yishun branch) for all my maids. So far we took 4 already for my family. 3 currently still with us. -
Nowadays, \"all\" foreign workers have handphones. Outside my house there are road constructions going on and each day there are many foreign-workers working outside. Except for the foreman who is a local I think, all others are foreign-workers. At one stage when foreman not around, I saw at least two using their handphones. One in the ditch out of sight, the other one quickly check and stuff it into the pocket.
This is the reality.
And Singapore is the most \"plugged-in\" country in the world (at least this was what I read in the papers sometime back). Not surprising whoever is in our country would be quite \"plugged-in\" too!
[By the way, when I mentioned that to my hubby, he said they have instructions inside their handphone on how to build the ditch/roads and if they encounter any difficulties, they will call a central hotline for help. Wah! Talk about being \"plugged-in\"! :salute: ] -
Last night my maid mentioned that the other maids all have big handphones. Not just handphones. Must be Samsung

Usually the foreign workers have better and are more up to date in the handphone they used…

Yes, my maid also told me, \"all\" her friends have Samsung and they are buying the bigger Samsung Tab. To surf the web, watch dramas, youtube etc. When I was pissed, I told my maid sarcastically she is better off than me since she has this Tab when I have none and also got time to surf. She more free than me!
