Thanks ! Last year, the Sci tr was a retiree in her 60s and took up 1yr teaching and all 3 classes were taught by her. DD was one of those almost failed the Performance Task . Certainly, it was a struggle for the girls and parents freaked out as well. This yr, DD is blessed with this young,vibrant tr who has motivated them for greater heights.[/quote]Only 2 kids scored low 80s in dd's class. The rest below 80.
Didn't hear about anyone getting above 90 in the entire cohort.

According to DS, not only teach P5, also P4 for some other subjects. They only did one mock paper in last min., got the answer sheet last day before science exam. Another two mini practice papers even never get answer back.

Also as far as I know, quite some kids even forgot to bring back Science file for revision in the last weekend. My ds was one of them, I recalled this when I was in office that Friday late afternoon, no choice, had to ask him rush back to school to get his file. I doubt if the teacher has reminded them to bring back their file.

Gifted Gem, my DD is in the same primary sch but P4. This year, the retiree teacher is no longer teaching the P4s, thank goodness! Performance task, many kids recieved full marks or close to full marks. Science overall, more than a few are over 90. I totally agree calibre of teachers make a world of difference. Last year, my DD also had a retiree teacher for p3 and the teacher's commitment was unsatisfactory!

Yrs & GG's DD must hv diff teachers so it does appear the tr really makes a difference !

Anyone has the breakdown components for HCL & EL marks allocation towards the final SA1 results ?

So far HCL has gone thr 3 exam papers + 1 compo. Anyone has any idea the weightage % ?
How’s abt EL ? Besides the recent paper, how is the other components ?

Anyone sign up for the maths olympiad enrichment class conducted by NUS ? DS could not make it cos of our overseas plan, so wonder is he going to miss out a great program?

Hi Just4Fun, Never heard about this enrichment class, is it organized by GEP branch or NUS? How long is this program?

I hv to dig out the notice... it was given out by the school. If I can remember correctly, this is a few days' course.. conducted by NUS lecturers. I believe this course is open to all P5 & P6, not only Geppers.
