Seriously, this is a Uni's internship rates?

      It's allowance not salary.... Duh?
Might as well just start work with O' level qualification...
Allowance
SIM recommends a monthly allowance of between SGD600 to SGD800. As CPF Board does not accord the same exemptions as compared to publicly funded institutions, employer contribution of CPF for SIM interns’ allowance will be applicable.
All these intern.... they no leg to walk out..?

Maybe just a simple case of 周瑜打黄盖。

But the pink puncher does not seem as wise as 周瑜 and nothing to gain from this and may face criminal charges and the student definitely not a 黄盖 caliber also. 周瑜 and 黄盖 were in collusion but in this case it doesn't look that way leh. :spank:

        You got the meaning wrong.

It means both are willing parties. Nothing to do with agenda.

Technically, the phrase is followed by

            \"一个愿打,一个愿挨\" or \"两相情愿\"

In practical usage, it only related to \"willing parties\", and not related to agenda.

Actually an area often overlook is the verbal/emotional/mental abuse. A colleague from another office used relate to me how she is verbally and mentally abused by the manager (usually in between a lot of tears). One day when she was 8 months pregnant, she finally called it quits and begged the big boss to fire her so that she could leave immediately (and still get her maternity benefits). In a way she was lucky, offered no pay leave + maternity and "after that see how it goes"… but really, emotional abuse could be quite bad, too.

In another thread in KSP, some parents are wondering whether the victim has special needs like autistic. I think it is probable.

Our interns are so pathetic there are not many companies which are willing to train them? That company is like a slaughterhouse

I applaud that hero who exposed the whole abuse. There should be more like him around.

Hopefully our minister in charge of manpower or someone else can do something.

As per what was reported in today's wanbao, he admitted he's a person with very low self esteem. He has no self confidence. However, he said he's a very hardworking and dedicated worker. A counsellor analysed that due to his lack of confidence, he's very afraid of searching for a job. He's worried of not able to find a job and that will lower his self-esteem even further.

Sad to say, his family background and parents' teachings had moulded his present character. Reporter remarked that they are very non-confrontational folks, everything 以和为贵, 大事化小. The father said his son is very 知足. Thus, despite getting $500 per month, he was ok. Gosh!!! :slapshead: They knew he was getting $500 and yet, they didn't ask him to quit.
