      He is participating in MO this year but his school did not ask the p5 to participate in RSO or SPSO. is registration to RSO or SPSO thru MOE schools only?

      He is from a neighborhood school and they do not actively sign up student for major competitions, have to remind the school etc.

      Those awards could be added advantage, but if your DS is aiming at NUSH, then his performance in the selection test will be the major factor
      to determine if he will be selected for the camp.

        Can we apply multiple dsa applications with the same school? one application under academic and pay $60, another application under sports and pay $60?

          If apply under sports, the current coach will be able to advise if your kid is good enough. Most of the time, for individual sports, they are usually ‘head hunted’.

            Just attended NYGH open house yesterday and was told that the DSA intake for Chinese Dance as CCA is probably about 2 to 3 students only.

            I am considering either to DSA my gal via CCA (Chinese Dance) or via Academic.

            CCA : My gal is in Chinese Dance since she was 4 yrs old from external Dance school (note : Chinese Dance is not her CCA in school). She passed with First Class Grade every year. She was excited with the choices of CCAs NYGH has, but she truly understands that if she is being accepted by the school via CCA, she has to take Chinese Dance as her CCA. She was quite reluctant but this is the only talent (CCA) she has.

            Academic : she did quite well in her mid year exam. (Aggregated score abt : 268 (though is neighborhood school)). She is also head prefect in school.

            Q1: is Chinese Dance one of NYGH core CCA?
            Q2 : should I apply via CCA or Acad? Which chance is higher?
            Q3 : if via Acad, what other support is useful?

            Thanks in advance for kind advices.

                  What is a superior answer for the following questions?🤷

                  1. How do you spend your free time?
                  2. Have you had any setbacks or disappointments? How did you overcome them?
                  3. What are your goals and aspirations?
                  4. If you could be a piece of furniture, what would you be?

                    I think you already have your answer... 'if she is being accepted by the school via CCA, she has to take Chinese Dance as her CCA. She was quite reluctant'.....

                      @Melodyme

                      1) Yes, chinese dance is one of NYGH’s core CCAs

                      2) For DSA via academics, your daughter would have to sit for 3 tests, English/Chinese and Mathematics. So unless she is exceptionally talented at all 3 subjects, DSA via CCA is definitely easier.

                      Do note that 4 years is not a short time. Performing arts CCAs generally have a lot of practices, usually 2-3 times a week, which may increase to 4-5 times per week if there are performances/syfs. It is a lot of commitment, so unless your daughter is really interested in the CCA, don’t enter via DSA.

                      @GDragon
                      There is no such thing as a superior answer for interview questions. The whole purpose of interviews is for the interviewers to understand the applicants and to select the ones who are able to fit into the school culture and to make the most out of their time in the school. So just be yourself.

                      FYI, I know of someone who replied: "sleep and slack around" to question 1, for a usp interview and he got in.

                        Hi
                        They only have the 6 yr thru train programme and they prefer to call it RP aka Raffles Programme 😄
