Kinderfun cheap!!!??? I would say their desks/chairs are actually overpriced among all the Taiwanese brands out there. And yes, Kinderfun's Comf-pro is Taiwanese despite what they will tell you. Their desks alone starts at $1200, so their chairs $650, so by the time you add delivery, it's almost $2000. For this price, I'd rather go for the original German moll.

      Hi Tanjack77,
Can share where do you get it instead then ?

Hey sundaymorning, you can check the previous postings in this thread. If you have the budget for premium study desk/chair, then get a Moll desk at Ergokid in Wheelock Place. If you’re looking for the cheaper Taiwanese, I suggest Kid2Youth/Scool, Ergoworks, Jarrons and Atwood. I will refrain for commenting on each of them and to be fair, they each have their plus/minus. It’s better to check them yourself because some of the posting in this thread can be extremely biased and may not be bona fide. The Taiwanese desks are cheaper than a Moll but you can’t compare on price alone as quality, features and design are different. Some of them look rather tacky, the kind of desk a teenager or grown-up may not like. And don’t be fool by some of the low prices, some charge delivery/installation costs, others give you a cheapo chair in the bundle and require you to top up a lot to get a decent chair. Pure marketing gimmicks which makes things less transparent.

Jarrons from city square is really bad. I am considering to file a complaint against them in CASE with the invoices. Salesman is called Joshua.

They failed to deliver the promised items for months(4 months). When we call, the girl in the phone always said get back to us later! but never call back.

Also the chair quality really bad too!

I recently bought a set from Atwood. They are having promotion at the moment.

My girl is very happy now and she does her work at her desk; she used to do it at the dining table.

I must add that I am totally appalled at the ergoworks product that I bought from them!

The sales person who sold me the table and chair bundle insisted that he had told me the chair, which is covered in synthetic leather would peel after some time!!!

I totally had no recollection of that statement. if not, i would not have made that purchase... the whole family was there and knowing my hubby, he would have also discouraged the buy if he had heard that the chair would peel!

I called the showroom asking what happened to the chair...and they said it was 'normal' for synthetic leather to peel after some time. I may sound stupid but this was NOT made clear to us that the quality would be so bad...

The chair was clearly not misused, or put under direct sunlight or exposed to any form of cold temperature. the chair, in fact, was kept nicely in a cool temperature room, away from extreme weather conditions whatsoever. the kids would use it occasionally when they needed to do their work and with our supervision.

That chair was a problem other than just the leather itself...had to call the company to ask them down for checks not too long after purchase as well.

Now with the peeling synthetic leather, the clothes get stuck on with those remains of the peels and it drops all over the floor too...then on top of the peels, the white portion underneath is somehow powdery. So kids' clothes especially dark ones get stained white too.

To top it off, the upholstery is not cheap. Just to change it to fabric and including installation, it costs a whooping $290 as quoted by sales person!! the chair costs $690 now... that is like...half price of a new chair and their fabric is soooo expensive!!

They insisted that there was nothing they could do except to ask me to pay for upholstery to get it solved... the most upsetting thing is that, is I had known or been told that quality would be so lousy, i would not have bought!

So when you guys buy from them, think twice, thrice about quality...
I suppose you're not the only one with this unpleasant experience with Ergoworks...

Although there are so many negative comments on Jarrons, but i am wondering Are they really that bad? I will be surprised if so and how can they survivied till now? My friends shared there are also extremely poor service and attitude from shops selling expensive like few thousand dollars per kid desk, in my opinion who is good or bad, I think only times will tell, perhaps believing in others experience should not just come from someone unknown and virtual here, we should use it as casual reference and defintely not bias. :xedfingers:

Jarrons made empty promises. Never provide update about delay in delivery at all. To date, I have not received my items and nothing is heard from them. very bad after sales service.

Poor thing, hope there are not too many victims out there. Maybe The safest way is to buy simple table and chair from IKEA and save all these hassles and money.

In the past, we also survived and did well with those canteen chairs and wooden tables, Actually what's the big deal with all these expensive furnitures, my neighbor 2 kids are hunching over their 5 grands German sets and oversized chair obviously too big for the singaporean built, ended mummy always keep screaming at them :?

Led to this thread coz of the title and wanted to see what are the parents’ feedback to get my son one set…

Now, i am confused and skeptical…
But personally, i think i will shortlist Kinder Fun and the one at Suntec to compare… previous comments on these two shops seemed more genuine… will update.
