thanks zeemimi for the sharing. Are you an educator yourselves as you mentioned that you have several kids from KCPPS, graduated, graduating and just entered? I knew some popular school did not care much about the average pupil. The teachers are focusing on the top 2 classes. Is it common everywhere?

Sorry about the confusion. I'm speaking from the perspective of a parent, and a rather old one, judging from the ages of my kids. :rotflmao:

Focusing on the top 2 classes is rather common everywhere. But the scene should change if moe is trying to roll out \"every school is a good school\".

how can it be 'every school is a good school' whereby some school have GEP. most of the bright students island-wide will be channel to the elite schools. I think the focusing is still there as they want to nurture the higher ability students (just to put it in a politically way of saying).

So it depends on what is the definition of a good school. This has been debated hotly in other thread. To me, a good school is one that not only caters to academically inclined students. A good school also takes care of those not too academically inclined.

                totally agree, zeemimi!

I am considering KCPP cos academic rankings and the like are not the most impt thing to me. KCPP is a convenient option since I qualify under 2B affiliation and distance wise it's not too far. So least stress in regis.

Glad to hear that there are kids and parents who have enjoyed being part of the school. Chasing after hot schools is over-rated imho. :celebrate:

Any idea if there will be a student care centre within the school after it moves back in 2015? That is a major consideration for me.

during a briefing last year, there were plans to have 1. Survey forms were also distributed. Best to check with school on the latest status regarding this.

                      Hi Wind79,

There will be a student care centre in the school premise, when they move back to Bishan.

Thanks, that's great news for us. We live within 1km of KCP and Peichun. We were still undecided if we should try our luck with Peichun. But the student care in KCP helps made up our mind since we'll get better chances as well.
