Didn't occur to me not to buy this year! I bought it too. It was like that last year and this year. Must remember not to get it next year since it seems like the norm that Chinese teacher will double-up as Art teacher. -
Jennifer:
I refused to buy the Arts textbook because they never used it in P1 and P2. Wonder why they put it in the list.. .My P3 boy has his Chinese teacher teaching Arts & Craft. I should not hv bought the Arts textbook (which is in English).

I am going to write to the principal to feedback on this. The Arts textbook is not cheap either. Not that I cheapskate lah, but why waste $ like this?Jennifer:

Yesterday my P3 boy came back very upset that the Chinese teacher did not do Arts & Craft lessons (2 periods). Instead she taught Chinese. In all, the class has 4 periods of Chinese lessons inthe morning.
I wrote an email asking her whether yesterday was a special case since the class missed Chinese lessons on Monday. This morning I asked my boy what the teacher did in the class, spending 2 days of lessons on only 2 pages of the textbook. He said she told stories. So I asked him between story telling and AC lessons which he prefers more. Surprisingly he said he prefers AC more. Hopefully the Chinese teacher gets my hint and gives AC lessons in future. -

If I am not mistaken, only in P4 upwards would the class have different teachers for each subject (some teachers take a core subject plus a non-examinable subject). -

Her ex FT also use non core subject timing to teach EL/Maths last year.I am going to write to the principal to feedback on this. The Arts textbook is not cheap either. Not that I cheapskate lah, but why waste $ like this?

Even tho her ex Art tr did not use art text last year, my gal faithfully brought the text every week.  I wanted to give away the P2 art book last year, she refused. She actually tried out some stuffs from the book during her school holidays. Having said tat, I also agree tat school should not placed it in booklist, unless they put it down as 'optional'. -
Jennifer:
Oh I see. Din know tat. Thot some classes have diff Math, EL and Science trs.IJJ:
