haha that's a million-dollar question only the Principal can answer πŸ˜‚
Pls update us tomorrow if you have any news from the Principal πŸ˜‰

Last year, the P replied to many questions to assure that if the girls on WL put NYGH as 1st choice in the DSA preference form, she will definitely accept them. It was not true.

I know a GEP who put NYGH WL as 1st choice, RGS CO as 2nd choice, she was given RGS. She was one of the top PSLE scorers (above 265) and also top 5 since P4 to P6. She had wanted NYGH.

Another case, also a GEP, put NYGH WL as 1st and only choice but gave up RGS CO as she had only wanted NYGH, she was rejected on PSLE results day. She was also one of the top PSLE scorers in her school (above 265). She applied to NYGH via S1 posting.

Do take it with a pinch of salt what Mdam Heng will say during the tea session. She had risen the girls' hopes inevitably. Only the T-Score counts. All the best for PSLE!

Wow ! That sounds strange ! Did she make that commitment publicly in the tea session last year ?[/quote]Yes she did. When parents questioned her thereafter, she said there was an over-subscription. She was probably caught awares. Hope she manages better this year.

The two girls had good accolades and held leadership positions in their cca. However, this uniformed group is not in NYGH.

Heard many geppers were rejected or just offered with WL by NYGH. in that case , is it getting difficult to convert WL to co ?

All the 3 girls in my dd’s session gave good personal opinionated answers. There are no right or wrong answers. Basically, relaxing will help one think better. The interviewers just wanted a chitchat session. They already knew they are good academically, they just wanted to see them

in person and listen to them. 3 interviewers. One will be asking the qns, one typing away into the computer and another seated behind taking down notes.

Hi, my dd went to RGS last Fri for interview too.

She was not asked about the challenges of GEP. The rest of the questions were similar to GiftedGem’s dd.
      She had enjoyed the interview.

We let her change into a clean set of sch u n shoes.

      HELLO!!!

I can't help but felt like sharing too. I have another \"factor\" that I will put in. The school that she will go to will also have a deciding factor on the boys she mixed with at the JC level and could possibly determine her future husband! Therefore, we have to consider very, very carefully. Haha. To me, very important factor cos I have only girls and when puberty and sorts kick in, woah....out of control. πŸ˜‰

There are more IP schools options now.

Hey E3, welcome back. so no girl school for your girls then? πŸ˜‰

      Hi dyh,

Personally, I prefer co-ed. However, not many IP schools are Co-ed from sec 1-4. Thus, it's important that she ended up in the right fit, not just follow suit. Hehe.

      MGS girls + ACS boys
      NYGH girls +HCI boys
      RGS girls +RI boys

The rest too far to consider. I am treading on dangerous grounds here so I shall not elaborate on the boys turned husbands from the above schools in case I offend anyone. Hehe. Anyway, it's just my very personal opinions. Food for thought for those with girls. πŸ˜‰

      2. My elder boy does not like long distance travelling - waste time

      4. We thought NJC no need to study Higher Chinese
      5. I rather he be a big fish in a small pond
      6. I was from NJC
      7. I did not like the other 2 schools :rotflmao:

      I like pt 4 & 6. Keke.

He's one of the few who can go RI but prefer not to.

Seriously, RI is not the only school that can produce students with good academic results.

My elder boy still can sleep by 9.30pm if he does not do leisure reading.

I sometimes take the public bus before the school reporting hours to Empress Place Market - seen enough Nanyang and HC students sleeping on the bus.

Can parents advise if you subscribe any magazines for your lower primary children, such as discovery etc? What's the cost and how to go about doing it? Thanks.

      E3,
You mean during your gal's time, none got A* for P3 HCL (notwithstanding the fact that PH usually gets quite a few PRC kids rite)? Jialet man!

Next year my turn to rant. You all don't fight with me hur. πŸ˜‚
Righto! At the end of last year, 90.5 was the top score and she's already really very good, not a PRC, a true blue Singapore-bred girl. My girl managed a high 80s.
