Tried the pyramid qn. Add the 2 nos. at the bottom, subtract 15.
Btw, did any parent here attempt that maths qns that was reported in the news? Supposedly for p3, but i can't solve it too!! -
Jennifer:
My boy doesn't even attempt. He missed a few questions here and there. Suspect his eyes transformed to top and bottom in class, wide apart. Can do qn 1 and next sec, jump to qn 3. Not once, but a few times across all subjects! :slapshead:janet_lee88:
For the crazy Math exam today, he told me he had to leave out 2 prob sums as he just could not attempt. For P5, I know it is not going to be easy...has never been. :slapshead:
My advice to my boys is never leave a qn unattempted. Give a few workings, try alternative methods. Just do not give up totally.
While we were revising at home, my P5 boy sometimes hv this habit to give up on qns that look alien to him. I need to scold him or coax him into trying. Sometimes he gets around the difficult qn, sometimes he uses guess & check. -
Janet, E3 & ruatq2,
Wah you 3 mummies like lay the red carpet to welcome me officially to the PH-Parent-Torture-Club liddat (hey new acronym PH-PTC).
I always thought my son quite good in Chinese leh - he's into 3rd η¬η« book which I thought is pretty good for a P2 - but no matter how many times I flipped that SA1 paper, I still think the most he can get is only mid-80s. That's assuming zilch careless mistake which is nearly impossible. :nailbite:
E3,
You mean during your gal's time, none got A* for P3 HCL (notwithstanding the fact that PH usually gets quite a few PRC kids rite)? Jialet man!
Next year my turn to rant. You all don't fight with me hur.

Thanks Scary!! Found it last night too... Took me too long

Righto! At the end of last year, 90.5 was the top score and she's already really very good, not a PRC, a true blue Singapore-bred girl. My girl managed a high 80s.

Generally the big gap happens from P2 to P3 and from P4 to P5. My son kept saying the P5 Chinese is very hard...

He is lucky this round, only 2 careless mistakes n the prob sums qn types are those he is familiar with. He did badly for the mock paper. -

My son said 3/4 of P6 failed HCL paper2 :yikes: .... to 'justify' that he is just 1 of them
