Must state this. I am not siding the school in this case!
Actually the topic was quite clear if we had attended the briefing at the beginning of yr. The slides are in Mconline and the followings are stated:
Anyway, nothing to hide in this case as the info is in the website.
Since you have just shared your bad experience with the school and teachers,
I really find u very contradicting, when this is an obvious case of fault which lies in the school/teachers,
I am sad that instead of comforting us, who are the victims,
we are being
:rotflmao: :spank:
for not paying attention in the briefing which was more than 6months ago & infer topics for test?!!...
& got labelled as bo chap & only have ourselves to be blamed?!?
& i mentioned before, what about those parents who did not attend briefing??
so they also huo gai huh??
& me, i left the briefing early, due to work also..
so u trying to tell us, school has such lousy communication that we parents MUST attend and MUST pay undue attention in order to infer topics for test, & CANNOT leave early???
I don't think I have laughed at any parents in any of my posts. Just find that when things happen to you, you lose your cool and want others to agree that the fault lies with other parties solely. So what if we know that the fault lies with the school/teachers or even the parents? We know hard for the school/teachers to change, but as parents, we can change our approach. Also, I was just sharing that the school had indeed shared with us on the tested topic (be it half a yr ago or just yesterday). I did not label you as bo chap. It was a general statement that I made when I used \"you\" in the earlier post. Many parents took pictures of the slides too and the school did indicate that the slides are online.
As for paying attention, not for me to comment but up to parents to decide how important the briefing is for them to remember the details. Just like us telling our kids, \"XXX is important, please pay attention\" if we feel XXX is important. I don't think that there is anything wrong to share with others that they have to take note when the school auto communicate with the parents like the briefing. This can caution other P1/P2 parents or the upper prim parents if they have never attended the school briefings. I believe my post here did wake some up that such communications by school heads is important when you think you can leave everything to your child or the teachers cos they did not attend the briefing, cos the teachers can be bo chap in finding out correct info for you, cos some kids can be switched off even when teachers tell them the details, etc.
As for ours and some other classes, maybe we were more fortunate as we were told to refer to briefing slides. So we referred. As for parents who missed the briefing, it's up to them to view the importance of it and checked with teachers and parents what they have missed. I can't comment on their behalf. Anyway, you did mention that you were cautioned that it was a different topic, but you did not further confirm right? Umm.. . maybe you or embel could have posted the doubts here. The parents can't possibly share everything that happens in school here unless there are queries and topics that will interest others.
Because I know that the school has communication problems and there are bo chap teachers, I have to place importance on certain things. I shared my part so other parents can take note if they want. Of course, what I deemed as important may not be important to some cos our kids have different characters. I thought you would have known long ago about the communication problems, about the bo chap attitude, etc since P1?
As for discipline, my boy actually quite ok but I know there are many boys who still have problems doing work at home. At least, I can leave him alone at home and go to work, get him to go to coffee shops to buy his own lunch (and for me too at times!), get him to go to his enrichments himself. Many gave me the :yikes: look when I told them this. As we have no helper and external help, I also choose to look at certain things only, better 放手 and train early.
