Choosing and Evaluating Primary Schools

Hi all, i really need some advice here.
My boy was born in 2008 and will be registering for P1 next year. This Jun is the only time I left for registering for PV.
I live in jurong west street 41 and the only good school within 1Km is Rulang. I have registered for PV and was told that they are only selecting
'8' PV for the coming year (out of 200 applications!) The chances are really slim. :imdrowning:
I'm so desperate now. Are there any other good schools in jurong area? West Grove? Xing Nan? How about Fuhua? I have been to Xing Nan open house and quite happy with what we see there. But it's quite far. (street 91 to street 41 :gloomy: ). I dont know how these three school compare to each other. Any other good schools?
not surprise of the low number cos it was the same last year. well think westgroove is good too. but I would think you should consider shuqun too. should be within 1 km for you if u cannot get the PV. good luck in ur interview!
Your adivce will be greatly appreciated. -

standard (have an idea) :-My son is going to P1 in 2015.
I have 3 schools to consider....Pei Chun (phase 2A2), St Andrew's (phase 2A1) and Maris Stella(phase 2C<1km).
Can anyone advise me on thes schools in terms of sch environment, teachers and maybe standard?
Thanks.

My eldest son is born in 2008. I am seriously considering to shift to Pasir Ris by mid 2014 and considering White Sands Primary or Pasir Ris Primary. Hopefully we can find a place within 1km as we did not do PV. In your opinion, which one should I put as first choice? I have heard good reviews about Pasir Ris, and also seen that White Sands standards seem to be above Pasir Ris Primary.

1) Can someone share about Rosyth School?
2) Wat is the difference between ACS (Pri) and ACS (Junior) ? which is the independent sch? -
GG to P1:
Neither. Only the secondary school, ACS Independent is independent.

Hi if I m you , my choice will be either Pei Chun or Maris Stella. Will not choose St. Andrew. Result wise , both performed better than St Andrew and they are SAP schools. For MS , there is affiliation to the secondary school (SAP )which is better than St Andrew secondary. The cut off points without affiliation for MS is higher than SA which also offer N level. So the students are more rowdy as compared to MS . Furthermore , it is more convenient to travel to MS with a MRT Station next to it sheltered to the school. My son is going to P1 in 2015. so ACS (Pri) and ACS (Junior ) is the same?[/quote]No. ACPS and ACSJ are two separate primary schools. Neither of them are independent schools. Only the secondary school ACS Independent is independent, ACS Barker Sec is not independent either.
You might want to raise your question in the primary school threads for ACS Primary and ACS Junior to see if anyone there can answer your question on the difference between the two primary schools. -
Thank you for the information
