For normal healthy kids mebbe easier to go on with life as per normal. With sickly kids they cannot take it as easy. Kids with severe allergy problems suffer greatly from this haze. My DD’s eyes can get really really from watery to very very swelled up until the eyes cannot open… like she was boxed in both eyes in a serious boxing match.

She is already allergic to normal dust. The haze for her is a gazillion times worse. But healthy ppl may not be able to empathize because they don’t know how it feels and how similar ppl suffer.

This is only the allergic to the bad air part, haven’t discuss abt the repercussions on the skin yet. Yes, the eczema…

I wonder what is the health cost for insisting children to go to school in hazardous PSI level? Maybe we won’t be around anymore and we can’t tell whether their illnesses are due to the haze their breathe in when they were young…

sad thing is that school would just probably cater to the majority.

lucky thing is my dd who is taking her psle this year will have no problem, but my p4 ds with a sensitive nose is having problems now. have to make sure the air purifier is right beside him and he has to stay away from the windows and door where exchange of air takes place and make sure his nose is sufficiently moistened by the nasal spray. i dread this same psi reading when school starts. hope it'd ease. 🙏

buds, having 4 young kids in this hazy situation is really tough. i have 1 problematic kid, u had it 4 times worse. take care and be strong. :hugs:

What happen to our education? The children are getting more and more self centre, without considering others. Is this what we want for our future ?
Donch blame the school. Blame the parents!

Good schools your kids are in.

buds, I also received sms from the form teacher. About 20 minutes ago. Does your DD’s form teacher know your handphone number?

Buds, check the school website. I think most will be starting to take action liao. I just checked DD's Sch, saw this. A teacher just called a few minutes ago about the cancellation of their camp in school. DS Sch yet to post anything yet.

Update from Ministry of Education as of 21 June 2013

MOE has issued an update with regards to the worsening haze situation.

\"As the haze situation has worsened, MOE has informed schools on 21/6 to cancel all school activities for the rest of the June vacation. Should the 24 hour-PSI level continue in the very unhealthy range over the next few days, MOE will take guidance from the Inter-Agency Haze Task Force on the need for further action.\" - via MOE's website.
