In cases like this, sometimes I ask myself what is my gut feel. When all else fails, maybe this could be one thing to fall back on. If your child is still young, another thing that is worth considering could be to keep him in one place (whether mainstream or special school) and then monitor and see how he progresses. Rule of thumb could be to reassess 6 months later. Just some thoughts for consideration.
My doter attends two pre schools too - EIPIC in the morning and mainstream cc in the afternoon. So far she is ok with it - its more the mother that is feeling the toil of having to fetch her to and fro!

private therapy? Which institution? What are the costs?
there are a lot of private centers that offer speech and language therapy and occupational therapy which are the mainstay for ASD. Some centers offer social skills, art therapy, music therapy which are customized for children in this group. There is a lot of discussion at this thread - you can check it out. -
Www, if social skills is what u are worried about now, you can send him to Weecare. They hv social skills classes for small group. Per term is about $600plus. U can attend one term first and see if it is beneficial for him. Weecare is a private therapy centre.

Too expensive for us. Now the fee around $500, husband told me that if normal add with special childcare total about $1000++, might as well send to one international school that provide all these?
True too.
I am not worry about social skill for my child, but is the childcare teacher finding that a problem? My child talks to strangers... Hi to people... loves to disturb us and ask us to play together. -
Another suggestion is that u seek the current CC’s approval to sit in your son’s class for a day and see how he interacts with other children and if his behavior matches the teachers’ description. But of course, you will need to his so that he can’t see u.
Sometimes is just a matter of changing sch. I feel that u dun hv to worry that he can’t adapt to new sch because in life, he has to learn how to adapt to changes too. -

My child could sit still like a robot and not move around in childcare as and when the childcare teacher wants? Ask my child not to be playful and disturb others? -
Www, u mentioned that your child talks to u n strangers, I suppose all adults? How about other children, his peers? Does he know how to play with them? Share things with them and approach them?
There is a difference. My son who is diagnosed with mild autism also has no problem talking to us, saying hi to adults but his problem is with his peers. He prefers to play alone or parallel with them or only talk to them on things he wants to talk about.
Are u a local or foreigner? If local, I doubt u can enroll your son to an international sch. And the social class in Weecare are managed by teachers who are trained in this area, not the same as mainstream teachers.
How old is your son btw?
