      Hi,

My child is in P3 this year. P3 will be learning division working. But I understand that they don’t learn time table anymore. I wonder how easy for them to solve division working? Any P4 parents can advise? Thanks.

Teach them to do it the other way round. e.g. How many is 40 divide by 8? I'll ask the child what x 8 will give him 40. The child will depend on his 8 timetable to get the answer. πŸ˜‰

          Hi je,

Multiplications and divisions should be taught in P2.

          Didn't your child's school teach that? :?

By end of P1, the kids are to know the concept of simple division and multiplication. Some memorization is needed after concept has been learnt.

Reading through je query, I think je is concern over long working division. This is covered in P3 math. I just flipped through ds P3 math text book & yes this is covered in P3. Is this what you are concern about je?

              EN, BINGO πŸ˜„

They use skip counting at P1 & P2, no longer using time table. That's why I was wondering how they can solve the long division working easily...different from what we used to learn...

                        Hi ks2me,

                        Just wondering ... isn't there a difference betw \"3 times more than\" and \"3 times as much as\" ?

                        Thanks
