June holiday is over...time for school!!!

Didn’t bother much with older one…he faces the music, so I don’t bother.


Since 1st day of holidays, I have been asking, ‘Any holiday homework?’
Daughter: No, no, no.
Me: I thought I saw English worksheets. What about online?
She: I will get them done, later. Do you think there will be school? There is haze right?

same here. Asked my two gals on a few occasions whether there is online homework in addition to their handwritten lists and the answer is always NO.


Decided to do a random check on their online learning portals end last week and :yikes: dd1 has 6 assignments while dd2 has 8. Asked them what happened, they say teacher never say. :frustrated:

Checked around with parents groups and many said they don't know too. Anyway, we got them to do some, but cannot finish then cannot finish lor ...

With just 2 more days to go before school reopens, mummy here guilty of being switched off. Sat down with daughter to get 3 sections of Chinese done...can't do more.

maybe no need to feel guilty if the teacher did not give any specific instructions that there is online homework? My gals had a handwritten list of holiday homework but ask and learn was not featured. And when teachers post assignments on ask and learn, there is no trigger to alert parents, and we wont know unless we log in to check periodically, which high chances we don't.

Same here. Get my DD pack her own school bag yesterday. Then she ask me…

"Mummy, can I go on line?"
"No" ( thought she is going to play games)

sometimes i really wonder since it's holiday why are there homework?

I feels like nowadays holidays arent really holidays. Kids have to go back to schools like almost every other day..

Somehow, I never ever think of asknlearn tasks. It just doesn’t occur to me teachers will put homework there…maybe they do, but I only think of hard copy.


Make kids write down homework in planner…but they hardly do so. If i had not asked daughter to pack her school bag, those English worksheets would definitely handed in, undone. For Chinese online, I sat down with her to do 3 sections, only.

Holidays right? Why give homework?

True, 1st week of holidays , my DD went back to school for holidays camp on Mon-Tues, CCA training Wed-Fri. Whole week gone.

4th week of holidays, suppose go back to school Mon -Fri for CCA & other activities, THANKS TO THE HAZE, all cancelled last week!
