ME TIME!

Jennifer:
I just watched my latest idol...simply charming and oozing appeal.
U just watched the Taiwan idol drama on channel u?janet_lee88:
Thanks for being there for me, when I was down, being ostracized or criticized.
Few days ago, I just had an emotional outburst.
情感爆发...hahaha.
I see a lot of my younger boy in you, Janet. A perfectionist.
Just as I hope he would ease a little, I wish all the best to you in finding peace n balance.
I am a perfectionist...that is probably the reason why I get anxiety problems. Even hanging the wet laundry requires more time doing so, bcos I like to see clothes hung nicely...if I want to do something, I want to do it well...if not, I rather not.
This craziness causes unnecessary stress...sad to say, daughter has inherited that perfection trait. -
janet_lee88:
Nah, it isn't craziness. Just our personality. Over the years I hv mellowed down. I believe u can do it too. Jia you.

Jennifer:
My daughter is lacking in her foundation since she started P1...she is weak academically and it has been stressful coaching her...we wanted to home-school her for 6 months, to ramp her up as she is stressed out among her peers. But principal felt it is not a good idea to deprive her of a holistic education. So we will meet up again to discuss how best to help her.

Daughter is not lacking in her IQ and EQ...in fact her EQ is amazing.
So, I can only hope her principal, teachers, tutors as well as hubby/myself can help her...but we have not set high expectations...which I never did. -
janet_lee88:
Academic is indeed an aspect that is causing many parents undue stress. My next door neighbours send their dd to an international pre-school. She is due for P1 next year. Understand from the father that they hv decided not to put her back into Sg mainstream, but to continue in the international school. I dunno how this is possible. The little girl is smart looking and speaks with an American accent. My daughter is lacking in her foundation since she started P1...she is weak academically and it has been stressful coaching her...we wanted to home-school her for 6 months, to ramp her up as she is stressed out among her peers. \"My daughter is lacking in her foundation since she started P1...she is weak academically\" - r u referring to all subjects?
Home schooling is effective if we r able to provide a match in teaching method to her learning style on a one to one basis.
I always hv this regret - putting my younger boy in another pre-school when the one my elder boy attended moved to Shenton Way and also not insisting on lower pri enrichment classes for my younger one. His P1 FT who taught EL n MA was more involved in her leadership duties than teaching the class. The P3 FT was worse. I only hv time to stablise EL and MA. CL is in bad shape. Sci is outsourced.
Luckily his P6 teachers are responsible and hv good track records, so I could ease off on myself by trusting the sch teachers. Else, I do not know how I am going to survive this year.
Another 3 months to go and it will be a new chapter/challenge next year :nailbite: -

Err, putting shot or parting shot? If someone hits me with a golf club, that will be the ultimate parting shot (till death do us part). Great pun.
Not yet use the golf clubs.... save the best for last, they call it the parting shot. -

Muahaha! Love ur dh's sense of humour, Harlequin. Wait ... he's joking only rite? Or are you that lethal ...
On a serious note, when I rant to him I am usually not angered by him but by someone/something else... not til he dozed off, that is.

DH is a mild and even tempered guy, the cheerful and easy going type, that kind that we called Mr Yes.... so, I turn to the dog lor -
Just pulling your leg, icy_mama.

In the green is called, putting shot.... If its used to settle domestic dispute, then it would be the \"parting\" shot.

Our dog is my hubby's bao bei, kind of like the son that he never had... so if I scold our dog, for anything longer than 10mins he will hang white flag. So evil me  , but I love our dog just as much hor, only because I am a woman, women are more vocal lah -
My daughter is reasonably ok for her English but the other 3 subjects are weak. Principal has decided to call for a meeting with her teachers to discuss how we can work together on those areas and help her increase confidence and give her more time to work…lesser expectations…basically baby steps.
On our part, we should also forget the guilt of spending time on older one and neglected her earlier. -

Yes Jennifer, I am glad and very relieved her principal is willing to go that extra mile for her. Now is to hope and pray this girl will ‘wake up’.

There is a trait about perfectionist which I believe u also r aware - either do the very best or not do at all.
Maybe it is not a case of not waking up, but an avoidance due to lack of confidence? -
For this girl, she simply lacks the foundation for Math…disinterest too, especially with problem sums. Chinese wise, there is a change of syllabus for P3/4…so her problem is snowballed.
I need to meet her teachers to discuss further. -
FQW:
Huge compliment there bro. Thanks, still trying to be an 'A' wifey. Hard to score for this wor. Too many things to maintain. You leh? Recent appraisal got score better than last year's 'C' from wifey anot? Eh wait, or was it the year before last 'C'?
You're a good woman buds ... can see it in your dd's eyes.buds:
If she has the running elbow swing, you should just still be on guard. :scared:
All these years, I have already learnt that sleeping hours or the late nites ain't great for ranting or chats or just those soul-baring moments. Besides, he's lucky I am a very tolerant wifey. I don't rant, or complain much about anythin reali. He gets his sleep uninterrupted most times, in fact, I know all the tricks for him to have better sleep.
But those are perks...... for when he listens to the ranting... the chatting... the soul baring moments... during the afternoons.
Hmmm... what else did you see in her eyes that perhaps i missed. :skeptical:
You're referrin' to the precocious wide-eyed one, right? That one just talks non-stop. :frustrated: -

This playful and affectionate kick technique...
Can share the moves? :please:
I oni know the one and only kick. The lethal kick they call it. -
Jennifer:
Wow, it's unusual for principal to go to such length for a student.

Just curious, why is the principal involve in a student's progress? You raise your concerns to principal or through teachers'?
