I read from the P1 blog that NYPS now allows girls to have long hair.

Is that the doing of the new principal?

Girls only allowed long hair if they are in dance or gym

Not so according to this blog: http://nyps-p1level2010.blogspot.com/

            4) Hair Length of Girls
The school has decided to allow girls to keep long hair. However, girls with long hair have to keep them tied up and look neat. Our teachers may advise parents accordingly if your child is unable to keep it neat and tidy during school hours.

I didn't know too until I checked the blog.
So wondering if the new principal has anything to do with this change.

I don't know about last year cos' my DS just started at NYPS this year.
Are u talking about King's Rd leading into NYPS?
We were pre-warned and knew that King's Rd from Bukit Timah Rd leading into NYPS and exits from NYPS would be jammed
and I actually saw how bad it was on the 1st day of school. The situation was worsen by rain.
So from day 1 I told my DS to be prepared to walk in from Bukit Timah Rd and that was what he did with his mother on the 1st day
instead of getting getting stuck in the traffic.
Since then we recce the area and discovered a few entry points to NYPS.
Avoid doing the norm and thus avoid the traffic πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰
                    Hope this helps.

it has been getting from bad to worse, year on year

at first i attribute it to being the beginning of the year and new parents are not familiar with the environment....but it did not improve through out the year

blame it on many parents being more kayu and kiasu than before, not getting the kids ready to be dropped off, resulting in lots of delays at the gate and the drop off point

what parents should do is get the kids to be ready to alight, say 5 metres before complete stop at drop off point, so that the moment car door is opened, the kids can get out and go off, minimise the idle time at the drop off point and reduce the traffic build up

some ridiculous parents still stop the car, off the engine, come out and open the door for the kid, and still kiss them before getting back to the car, watch the kid go off, then drive off

i have no mercy for such parents - I will honk them non stop

True, some people are oblivious to others around them.
If everyone does this, it would speed up the traffic flow.
But won't honking make the situation more tense?
u are afterall in a residential area - pity those folks la 😎
