      Hynion:
      From MOE website:

Documents to Show Eligibility for Phase 2A(2):
Relevant documents certifying the status (e.g. staff or former student of the primary school) of the parent or the sibling and also the birth certificate of the sibling must be provided.

What is the document to certifying the Sibling's status of former student of the targeted primary school? His PSLE certificate is ok?
Yes, that should be good enough.

One and only special one registered under P2A1 for PHPPS. Interesting..

probably they believe P2A2 is as safe.

There is no alumni for PHPPS. Thus usually you will see almost nil in P2A1.

            Was looking at the result...

            CHIJ St. Nicholas Girls’ School\tYes\tNo\tNo\t210\t65\t145\t87

Meaning 58 vacancies left for 2A2? Possible of balloting in 2A2? Oh wow...
Okay, seems my first child is in...but will only breathe properly when I receive official letter from the school or MOE..Anything can happen?!

As for my no. 2, there is probably no choice but to sign up to be alumni member in case there's balloting for 2A(2). Must also be 'active' member, in view of complaints about 'sleeping' alumni members getting priority.

I look at my kids now and actually feel a little sorry for them that they have to compete at such a young age. But getting into the so-called preferred school is only the beginning...many, many more challenges await them!

If your no. 2 is going into same school as no. 1, it will be direct phase 1.no need join alumni.

Consider contributing in some sense to his alma mater. 😂 Settled my boy also means settle sch for my dragon girl in 5yrs time, 1 stone kills 2 birds.

Maybe #1 is signed up at St Nich Girls', which is a girls' sch & if #2 is boy, that explains different sch & join alumni at that school.

Wish we could do that…that would also help a lot in transportation. However, no. 1’s school is same-gender school. My no. 2 is of a different gender. The only co-ed school near our home is wildly popular and we have no affiliation to it. Spouse and I decided to save ourselves the stress of balloting under phase 2C and just register our kids with our old single-gender schools.

Wow…when we had our first child, we had never thought about all this Pri. 1 registration, priority system and balloting. And who would have thought 2nd child was of a different gender? I only panicked when I came across this forum haha!

So parents-to-be have to buy (or rent) another house close to the target school if necessary, join Alumni, PV, Grassroots, be active church or hwee kwan members, etc. and also to remember to plan the births of first, and their subsequent children properly. Education in Singapore has huge, profound effects on many of our decisions!

We have bought a BTO in 2012 and if we would like to use the BTO address to register for our child’s Primary One school, do we show the agreement lease to the school during registration?

The agreement lease did not state when the BTO will be ready. it only state that they will hand over to us latest by 2017. But it is predicted that it should be ready in 2016. My child is entering Primary one in 2014. If within 2 years of my child’s education and the BTO is still not ready for us to move in, will my child be requested to transfer to another school?

                        Thanks.
