I would recommend Ko Phangan, Thailand.
It’s beautiful and close to Ko Samui but is more reasonable in terms of price. -

Hi Dnls_mum,I second VK2010 for Pangkor Laut.
Another choice is Banyan Tree Bintan. Advantage of Banyan Tree is that it is easily accessible via ferry.
Can i check how much is Banyan Tree Bintan?
How is your experience there? -

Sorry, can't remember the price I paid. But you can check out the packages on their website.

I love banyan tree so my opinion may be bias..hehe.
So far I've stayed at the one in bintan, lijiang and hangzhou. We had the villa with a jacuzzi facing the sea at bintan. It was beautiful and peaceful. Nothing much to do except spa and relaxation. We arranged a hot pot dining in the villa one night. It was great. One morning, we ordered a picnic basket and brought it with us to the beach. My experience with service and spa at all the banyan trees have been great. Their villas are also beautifully furnished in accordance to the local flavor. Best of all private jacuzzi or pools are so luxurious. If you stay at any banyan tree resort, be sure you plan days for doing nothing other than enjoying the resort. -

For me, only prob with redang is the journey there. :(. No direct flight. Long drive :(. I have not been there because I dread the journey. I have seen friend'spictures. Great snorkeling opportunity. Very much a snorkeling place. If you don't snorkel or drive, then nothing much to do, I was told. But the fishes and corals really really pretty from the photos and videos they took.

Berjaya Air is the only airline operating direct flights to Redang from Kuala Lumpur's Subang Airport (55 minutes, around MYR526 return) and Singapore Changi Airport Budget Terminal (80 minutes, around SGD352 return). They operate two types of turboprop aircraft: the 4-engine 48-seater DeHavilland Dash 7 and the twin-engine 72-seater ATR 72-500. -

Ur....this type of planes save or not? Comfortable or not? Will get air sick or not? I never take before :scratchhead:

Realized this is an old thread. Anyone been to Pangkor Laut recently? What was the mode of transportation?

Helicopter is the easiest. Otherwise drive from KL, then ferry.
