With only 83 places left for 2A2, not sure if aitong may need to ballot in P2A2. In fact, this year figure seems to be totally not in line with past few years, also don't know how to predict. :scared:
I was looking for that information, but not sure where to obtain that. So last year, I pay to join the Alumni in order to get 2A1. Relieve me of the stress.
The way I see, by phase 2B, Ai Tong will need ballot.
phase 2A(1) : 60 registered
phase 2A(2) : 80 registered

this year (2013) :-
Phase 2a(1) : 76 registered
83 seats left

if phase 2A(2) applicants exceed 83 on 16 July -
Ai Tong will ballot, under 2A(2).
Question :-
Will all entire 83 seats be used up for 2a(2) balloting, or will moe intervene in time -
To apportion some seats (out of 83) - for phase 2b and 2c ?[/quote]
Interesting point. Will MOE apportion some vacancy for 2B and 2C? In doing so, 2A2 will need to go ballot. Was there any similar situation happened previously? -
Hi,wonder is there any open house around for primary school?

Me too. Joined alumni to play safe... figures look scary. May be first time since few years back that need balloting for 2A2. Scary....Nespresso:

I was told if my application is successful, there will be an orientation for Ai Tong -

I also wonder. But I’m wondering for either Nan Hua Pri or Fairfield Methodist Pri. Cos these 2 Schs have exceptionally high rates this year for enrollment. So much so it’s hard to predict, and also worried phrase 2B might not even happen too if all are taken up given so many piggies this yr. Wonder if I can call MOE tmr to find out. -

Thank you for the reply.
Yes, that should be good enough.Hynion:
From MOE website:
Documents to Show Eligibility for Phase 2A(2):
Relevant documents certifying the status (e.g. staff or former student of the primary school) of the parent or the sibling and also the birth certificate of the sibling must be provided.
What is the document to certifying the Sibling's status of former student of the targeted primary school? His PSLE certificate is ok? -

It will not happen. The rules clearly state that distance priority and balloting will kick in the moment demand exceed vacancies in any Phase after Phase 1. Since nothing was reserved from Phase 2A, nothing will remain for subsequent Phases if balloting occurs at Phase 2A.
I don't think MOE sees this as a problem at all, since the problem is constrained only to a small subset of schools that are irrationally seen as \"top schools\" by parents. To MOE, all schools are good schools and there are more than enough vacancies around, so parents shouldn't be fighting tooth and nail over any specific one. -
ChiefKiasu:
I also think that MOE will not intervene this time as the rules are very clear and they cannot change when the registration process had started. If there's really some school stop at 2A2 this time, I can foresee many people will voice their unhappiness and the govt may tweak the rule in the following yr.sengktay74:

Are there a lot more 2007 Golden Piggies born or is this situation due to New Citizens and their accompanying children? Am wondering why the statistics jump so much.
