2013 P1 Registration Exercise for 2014 In-Take

This is a classic problem. The solution is to observe the proceedings during the 1st two days of Phase 2C and register in the afternoon of the last day. If you feel that SCGS's odds are good at that point, then go for it, otherwise, register in Marymount. Try to avoid balloting or Phase 2CS as much as possible.Hi veterans :salute:
Asking on behalf of a friend (Singaporean).
Her girl lives within 1km of scgs, will be registering under phase 2c. Now that remaining vacancies is 44, ie 22 left for 2c after splitting half with 2b, chances of balloting for less than 1km is very confirmed right?
Marymount is backup plan.
In this case, if she were to go for Marymount instead at phase 2c (but more than 2km), her chances are quite definite - looking at past statistics show no balloting for phase 2c.
I read somewhere that Marymount is where all parents rush to at phase 2c supp when they fail to secure a place at phase 2c. And past stats show balloting required for >2km. But of course we can't say for sure how much will tur be for this yr....
So for my friend, would u recommend that she take the gamble of scgs first at 2c and hope for the best? Or go for a sure win at marymount and just forget abt scgs?
Otherwise will be burned at both ends - ballot at 2c For scgs and if fail, ballot for marymount at 2cs right?
All advices appreciated!! -

You should ask your friends the following questions:So for my friend, would u recommend that she take the gamble of scgs first at 2c and hope for the best? Or go for a sure win at marymount and just forget abt scgs?

1. What is her second backup school?
2. Is she comfortable with her daughter studying in the second backup school?
If her answer to the second question is \"yes\", she can go ahead and try SCGS at P2C. Whether she will get a chance to ballot at Marymount is unknown. So, in the event she doesn't get a chance to ballot at Marymount, she should go to the second backup school.
If her answer to the second question is a \"no\", she should go for the safer option. -

Alexandra Primary School has no previous registration history as its a new school. Does that means the registration will only kick-in at Phase 2C?
The school will start its Pri 1 registration from P2B. This is stated in their website:

Grassroot leaders can register under 2B mah. Only restriction is must be schools in their area.
But how come it opens at Phase 2B? There is no PV prior etc... -
There are grassroots leaders. They are eligible under P2B too
-
normally are there alot of church member and grassroots leaders?
if for church member they have catholic / methodist baptised cert, is there a difference. -
Iām puzzled. If open registration at P2B, why not open registration at P2A2 too? For the kids of the staff fr the school.
