        .......

Why would employer let their maid surf the net? No more privacy for employer since the maid can assess all the document files in the computer. Strange. That would be the last thing I would let my maid do. If she use the computer to find boyfriend also not very good because she may end up bringing the man home. Imagine all the emails she sent out could become evidence to use against employer when relationship sour. Seriously can't think of any good thing that will happen if maid are allowed to use the computer.
One friend got computer in the kitchen, cos maid needs internet for new recipes! But the maid apparently good cook, so my friend don't mind.

I have seen at least 2 comments in my maid blog posted by maids.

I am even thinking of setting up a section in my blog for maids 😉

I think those employers do not let the maids use their computers lah ! The maid should have her own computer to use. May be the maid bought it herself, or the employer gave her an old computer ?

My hubby and I each have our own computer too.

I don't mind my maid using her own computer after she has finished all her tasks during the day. But my current maid knows nothing about computer.

Thanks for the congratulations!! Its not the end yet because my new maid is still not here. In the meantime, I need to hang on…

Actually this morning I was updating mygalfriend on my maid issue and we have also touched on this internet thingy. Infact, she told me her maid also uses the internet at night. so I must be "outdated" haha…luckily not expired. She told me her maid is hooked on Friendster recently and has since make many friends but because the computer is in her room, she can use the computer till the wee hours. The next day, she will wake up late and keep yawning away. Now, she’s thinking of setting a curfew for her. Sounds a bit like our kid. I don’t know about the rest of the mummies here but I find Friendster and Facebook very bored. So I hardly go there. I don’t know why the maid would find Friendster addictive. Maybe generation gap???

maybe I'm just superficial, but she gives me the vibes that she wouldn't make a good maid....maybe not a bad person, but definitely doesn't fit my profile of what a good maid should be....hehe

Not sure if I can pose my query in this string of discussion - anyone has maid whenever washing your child’s hair (already 4 years old), your child keeps screaming and crying 'cos the water falls into his eye?

Maybe it’s my son’s problem or my maid’s problem or myself too nervous and I mentioned to my maid to be more careful so not to get water in his face but seems not easy for her to do as she said then she can clean his hair very thoroughly.

My son then all these years doesn’t feel comfortable and can’t stay still when rinsing his hair probably 'cos he’s so afraid the water gets into his eye and this makes the water even easier to get into his eye.

I had brought him a small shower cap for not letting the water to fall on the face but my son doesn’t like to wear and as there’s limited space in my house’s bathroom, I can’t ask my maid to hold my son horizontally so it’s more safe to control the water flow but it’ll be very tired for my maid to do.

After rinsing the hair, my son can quickly recover and stop crying but everytime I heard how he pleads not to put water on his hair, I feel like almost want to cry out and any one can give me some advices? Thanks your very much in advance.

maybe u should wash your own child’s hair, see if it’s indeed possible to not get any water into his eyes, and yet wash the hair thoroughly?

Personally, i find it near impossible, and my daughter screams like hell too LOL…so what? Some screaming won’t harm any kid.

My point is, I think your maid is not to blame…it’s simply a very difficult/near impossible task.

Another alternative is to just lightly shampoo his hair, then use a wet towel to wipe off the soap repeatedly…I tried it with my daughter…it’s not very very clean, and maybe a drop or 2 may get into the eyes…but then it’s just a compromise.

It’s just some screaming…I would advise you to get over it…this is definitely overprotective behaviour!

You can buy a special type of hat for your child to wear when you wash his hair, so that less water will come into contact with his face.

Or you can let him wear swimming goggles.

Back to the subject about maid…
Heard from a friend that maid actually got driver’s licence and is also functioning as a chaffeur!

wah so good to have a chaffeur...I'm sure she will find Singapore traffic a breeze compared to Jakarta or Manila!!!

DD is 2, used to cry whenever it is her bath time... she will always say dun want to wash hair... same issue as your DS... water and soap gets into the eyes... But my helper has managed to overcome it and DD does not cry so much now.... She play abit and distracted her, while being fast in the washing of the hair, so that not too much gets into her eyes.
