My helper’s work permit expiring in mid Nov 2019. She wants to go on home leave for 1 month and return end Oct 2019. I went to the embassy and the officer said that it is dicey as the immigration officer at Indonesia side may not let her return to SG and suggest she goes on home leave at least 2-3 months before her WP expires. Has anyone’s helper encountered difficulty returning to SG based on the above situation? Also her passport expires in 1 year’s time and I wanted to renew the passport but the staff said to renew it only when there is 9 months left. I forgot to ask if this is mandatory ie cannot renew earlier ? Would appreciate if someone could help with the above questions. Thanks so much!

RE: All About Full-Time Maids
@janet88
Thanks for ur reply but my helper does not want to go home for good.
She wants to go on home leave.
That’s why I am asking if there is the security bond by the Indonesian embassy whereby employers have to commit an in- principle sum of $6k to the Indonesian embassy?
Apparently it has been scrapped.
I called 2 maid agencies today.
I am surprised why MOM website still state that it is still present. -
RE: All About Full-Time Maids
My Indon maid wishes to go on home leave when her 2 year permit expires.
That means that I have to go to the embassy with her to do the documents , which also means that I would have to sign the $6K security bond with the Indonesian embassy.
Is there anyway to avoid this?
My maid has been with me for 10 years and I don’t want to give her up for another! -
RE: Home leave for Indonesian FDW - KPIS application
My Indon helper will be going on home leave.
Her work permit expires on 22 Nov 2017.
That means I can’t renew it now.
Renewal (soft copy) is only vailable 60 days before the WP expires.
The hard copy will be sent within 30 days of expiry.
My helper wants to return in Oct as she wants to celebrate her child’s birthday.
I went to the Indonesian embassy.
In order for the helper to return to Singapore from home leave she needs the following :
1. Apply for the card called - KPIS
2. Sign an employment contract with her employer. The contract is prepared by the embassy.
The contract will follow the date of the work permit validity.
I was told by the staff that my helper may face lots of questions at the Indonesian immigration on her return to Singapore as her employment contract is till 22 Nov 2017, and she is returning home in Oct 2017.
The purpose of this thread is to let u guys know that you should renew your helper’s work permit first, then go to the embassy to get the employment contract and KPIS.
I just hope that she will be able to return here hassle free. -

Their principal told The New Paper (TNP) on Friday (Oct 28) that the school administered public caning to seven students who had taken these images of their teachers.

RE: KTKLN for indo maid?
Just went to the Indonesian Embassy today to draft the working agreement which is required for the KTKLN application.
There is limited parking space in the embassy (15 lots) , so go early if you want to park inside.
If just getting the working agreement, go to Level 2 and get a Q number.
Helper will be asked to fill up a form.
Be sure to bring a pen.
Then your number will be called and the officer will ask you the salary that you are paying her, and will get you and your helper to sign 6 copies of the agreement.
After a wait of 10 minutes, it will be ready for collection.
Cheers! -
RE: Child attending church
Hi Joule, thanks for your lenghthy explanation.
I was brought up in a Christian family and attended church every Sunday when I was young.
However, during my time, there was no service for youngsters.
I will be expecting an answer from the church as I have emailed them.
My girl has been respectful even before she started to attend church and has never used any swear words as these words are considered taboo at home.
It is just the time spent with her church friends that make me feel uneasy.
I can feel that she is “on fire” when she discusses the Bible with her friends.
By right, I should feel happy for her that she has found a faith.
However, I feel that as a minor, she may not be able to handle it properly and balance it with family and school work.
