my mum is going to park her helper at my place during the 10 days she will be away.
the helper will be arriving next month and being a newbie, how can she be left alone at home?

if asking MOM for approval, the reply will be the helper is NOT allowed to work at another address. does that mean the helper is going to watch TV and surf Net all day during her employer's absence while the employer's friend still needs to feed and house her?
If she’s a newbie, then better not leave her at home alone.

In theory yes, must write in to MOM to seek approval. But I don’t think everybody does that. The whole intention is to prevent “abuse” of the maid. Maids usually won’t dare to sit in the living room watching TV the whole day, right? They will auto find some chores to do.

Alternatively, think your mum can leave the maid with the agent (at maid’s hostel), should be $20 per day including 3 meals and lodging.

there is this new thing from MOM about sponsoring the maid. hubby is the sponsor.
mum and I hope the girl will have initiative and willing to learn. in the beginning, maids are still afraid especially newbies. the girl is only 25. I have a daughter myself...so it is very cruel to ill-treat.
i'm easy-going, especially cooking. I will ask her to help me with vacuuming and mopping. cooking wise, I will still continue with my stuff but add on extra dish or 2.

My Indon maid wishes to go on home leave when her 2 year permit expires.

That means that I have to go to the embassy with her to do the documents , which also means that I would have to sign the $6K security bond with the Indonesian embassy.

Is there anyway to avoid this?
My maid has been with me for 10 years and I don’t want to give her up for another!

if she wants to go home, her heart and mind is already set.
it's very tough to train a new one, but insisting on her staying is definitely no way. honestly, you are very lucky to have enjoyed 10 YEARS with this helper.

                  @janet88

Thanks for ur reply but my helper does not want to go home for good.
She wants to go on home leave.

That’s why I am asking if there is the security bond by the Indonesian embassy whereby employers have to commit an in- principle sum of $6k to the Indonesian embassy?

                  Apparently it has been scrapped.
I called 2 maid agencies today.
I am surprised why MOM website still state that it is still present.

Parents beware of hiring this particular Myanmar maid, Nyein Nyein Ei

I previously had a maid and lie to us that her mum is sick and wants to go back.

We have a maid who help us to take care of our baby girl 8 months old. She is lazy and always sleep in the afternoon and use facebook . But we give in to her as long as she take good care of our baby girl.

After 1 month, she wanted to go back saying she she do not want to work anymore in SG. She talk to agency and get a replacement. However, she regretted and cried saying she cannot bare to leave our daughter as she likes her. My wife believed in her and keep her instead.

3 months later, she told us that her mum is sick and need to go back.We trusted her and arranging for a replacement maid so that we can send her back. We told her we need some time to get the maid and she was impatience. She start to break my things purposely and make my daughter fall so that we can send her back immediately.

We have no choice but to send her back immediately while finding another maid. My Myanmar friend helped me to checked on her facebook and found out that she lied.

To all parents and family in Singapore, beware about this maid and don't bother to hire her as she will give you problem in your house than to help you. She is planning to come back again. Beware!!!

Her picture is attached. and also agency that advertise her now.

Thank you for letting others know about your this horrible person. I have sign off Myanmar helpers all together. Just cancelled my Burmese helper WP last week too. The last Myanmar helper I had I treated her so well. Send her home for extra holiday when we went for our 2 weeks holiday. In the end she didn't come home. Found out that she went to work for someone else 1 1/2 months later. However she lasted only 8 months with new employer. … Then the next Myanmar helper came and claim to be a nanny while in Myanmar. Goodness, she has no patience whatsoever with my kids. My aunt actually saw her raise her hand like she want to slap my kids but she stopped when she realised she wasn't alone. Very dirty and lazy as well.... sigh....hopefully my next helper (Cambodian) will be better...
