[Seng Kang] Primary Schools

Hi all,
My ds1 will be attending pri 1 next year. We are staying just opposite Rivervale plaza. We might try to ballot for Rivervale pri, under phase 2C for our first try but I think we don’t stand a high chance to get it. My hubby say he will monitor the take up rate till the last day if he feels the chance is not good he would rather consider Palm view. Actually I am more keen to take sengkang pri since its nearer to home. How to make him see that sengkang pri is not that bad ? He feels that Palm view being a new school has its potential to excel with the leadership of its current principal. I can understand where he’s coming from but…I’m still haven’t set my mind on which to choose on the day. To all parents out there, how would you make your choice between Palm view and sengkang pri. -

1. Did you visit the Open Houses in the two schools?Hi all,

2. As per MOE, every school is a good school.
3. There is more to a school than just the principal. You need to look at playground, CCA, sports, teachers, etc.
Good luck to you. -
Hi Quizzer
Palm View Pri is having a open house on 26 July, maybe can go down and take a look.

Hi mummies, would like to find out why are more and more student care closing down?
Am looking for student care for my son for next year. Called up a few student care in sengkang and a few said they are ceasing operations for student care next year.
One of the student care said is due to more primary schools going to one session and they have activities/enrichment classes after school.
Is that true? Can current mummies advise?
If that’s the case, does it mean they can stay in school till we fetch them at 6pm?
Otherwise, where can the students go after school since everyday their finish timing is different and if I find a student care that requires to take a school bus then school bus won’t be able to send my son to the student care if he finish school at different timing at certain days of the week.
I really need advises from parents whose kids are now in Primary school and they are going to a non in-house student care.
