2014 P1 Registration Exercise for 2015 In-Take

Erm I’m sorry all of you have got my intentions abit off.
I like my alma mater and So does my hubby. We enjoy the time we had in sch. The friends made, ccas, teachers and school spirit. It’s hard for me to explain unless one experiences it himself. Esp during sports day, the cheering of different houses, and how we(mgs, acs and acjc) are one big family in spirit.
We want our children to enjoy and experience what we did too.
It’s not about being elite jus because the schools happen to be popular and situated in prime districts.
I had no trouble mingling with the richer gals and neither did they look down on me jus bcos I live in hdb.
At e end of e day, it’s the correct values we parents impart and inculcate. Education is for all and every parent has the right to want their children to be in the ‘better’ school if possible.
I’m so sorry if my post started this whole elitist issue. Let’s end here ok?
Many thanks and apologies as well. No offense intended.

This is why we shouldn't rid the alumni/old boys/old girls priority.Erm I'm sorry all of you have got my intentions abit off.

There is a sense of belonging. If there's no priority for my kids to enter my alma mater or my hubby's alma mater and have the same learning experience as we did and enjoyed, then why stay here in SG? -
so daddy and mummy goes to that school then the kids should as well? if that is not elitist, i don’t know what is. The "good" schools are forever there to service the well off and the rest be damn? Keep the peasants out kind of thing.
But then again this phrase will not be scrapped, where else will the ministers sent their kids. -
Hi
I would like to get some advice on the reviews of Ngee Ann Primary School and Pasir Ris Primary School.
My daughter is due for registration for P1 next year. I am an old gal from Ngee Ann Primary School and I know if I register my daughter in Ngee Ann under Phase 2A2, I will get a place. However, I live in Pasir Ris and Pasir Ris Primary School is just next to my block. Putting the distance aside, would anyone be able to give me advice on these two schools, which is better in terms of environment, culture and academic? Of course, the teachers and principal play an important role too.
Would really appreciate for any guidance and advice.
Thanks

Can we keep discussion, opinions and gripes on MOE's admission policies to this thread please?

Are there more sg kids born in 2008, compared to 2007?
By how many thousand more babies ? -
Am thinking to give up balloting under Phase 2C NanHua for Phase 2C Peitong or Alexandra Primary. Good idea? Outside 2km of AP, reckon I stand a chance based on this year’s statistics (after Phase 2C concludes)

think 2007 (pig year) go tmore than 2008 (rat year)

erm.. anyone..?

Dear all I'm in quite a pickle and I'm just wondering if any of you experts could comment
I have a dd 2008 and a dragon year son. I'm deciding between registering my dd for SCGS vs hong wen. We had more or less decided on hong wen due to proximity and priority in future for my son but I just found out that this year would see balloting for PV <1km. I rather not see my kids future to chance so I'm relooking at SCGS. In which case ill need to PV at Saint Andrews junior when my DS turn but surely competitive coz dragon year. Or should I just chance it?
An alternative would be to put my girl in SCGS for p1-2 and switch her to HWS at p3 but my girl isn't really the adaptable sort. Any advise appreciated. -
hey frend, realise we quite similar situation. think prioritise distance would be good? its quite straining on the kids to travel so far? school bus also don't solve problem of having CCA some days then the school bus cannot fetch; u need to ararnge for alternate transport. ru looking to move nearer RV? i guess unles su thinking of moving, best don't subject your poor children to travelling so much for 6 years? unless u really can chauffeur to n fro?
the schools near your place ok or not? chances of getting in?bagabunny:
