(ie the SA1 and SA2 exam)- sorry but I don't know what they call in HCI and how many times they have exam in year 1

They only hav SA1 and SA2in Year 1 :celebrate:

Ah, so your son is in Isparks - this is the consortium for SBGEP in HCI. Your son was from GEP in primary school?

S1 students are grouped in 4 consortiums - Aphelion, Isparks, Ortus ans Pro-Ed.
My DS is in Aphelion.
Except for Isparks which is the consortium for GEP and some other students, I don't know how they are selected for the other 3 consortiums.
Anyone knows the criteria?

Yes, my son was in pri GEP. He said that apart from the pri GEPers, there was one boy he knew from his pri school who had a platinum in Math Olympiad. He said there were quite a few Malaysian scholars too but I don't remember if they were in iSpark too. WHat are these Malaysian scholars? Are they the Asean Scholars?

Yes, Hwa Chong has a strong culture like other schools with a long history and their values-based education is a good model.

The students are smart and are high achievers.
I admire their Track and Field Team.

BTW, ASEAN scholars come in at Secondary Three to HCI and other secondary schools.

aren't there sec 1 scholars anymore? During my time there were 2 intakes in sec sch- sec 1 n sec 3.

I noticed traffic along Bukit Timah Road was significantly heavier after 7 today- bumper to bumper. So tempted to drive to NYPS but decided to stick to resolution to walk. Poor boy was so sweaty by the time he got to school.

Hi, which consortium is your DS in? Mine is in Ortus. No hardcopy given, they have to copy timetable from the class notice board. As the subjects are indicated in short form, I have to guess what they are. No handbook yet.

By the way, has your DS tried logging into the school portal - iVLE, SMB, webmail, etc? Any problem logging in?
