2013 P1 Registration Exercise for 2014 In-Take

Will there be a situation where the within 1km there are PRs? So the within 1km applicants drop? Or the published info already factor the Sporean/PRs etc within the 1Km applicants?

Example:

10 vacancies, 8 SC, 3 PR, all within 1km

The 8 SC gets in without balloting. The 3 PR will have to ballot for the 2 remaining vacancies.

Actually it's not that far to travel to Temasek ( 20 min bus) just thought if walking distance nicer.

Any safe bet? Or better school?

We stay 1km to st hilda, poi ching and junyuan and 1-2km for the rest.

Sorry to say this but since you got a place in Temasek, maybe you can help consider for other anxious parents and kids..., coz if you try again at 2C at other schools, someone else might lose the chance. Another kid may succeed to get into a nearer school all thanks to you..Also already confirmed you should just relax liao.. Temasek good school also, alot others want to get in also cant..

So there... hope it doesnt offend you but i keep thinking of the other parents and kids do not have your privilege...who either wish to get into temasek or SH, PC or JY..

Actually, quixation, when parents withdraw and register, it is a zero sum gain. Other parents can benefit from place that has been vacated by the parent, and while this may increase competition at the other schools, it is done at a calculated risk that the parent must bear. So I think it is alright.

For all parents awaiting NCPS results, I have called the school and confirmed all SC within 1km no need to ballot. So balloting required for 1 to 2km.

Sharing my relief with all others who are within 1km, sincerely wishing all who need to ballot the best of luck Fully understand the anxiety!

Do u hv any idea hw many seats left for ballot? How many r 1 to 2km?

This year really competitive as last year all 2B within 2Km gets in.

isnt society going backwards? Kids in kampong last time have to walk a long distance cross over mud roads & longkang to get to school…


Now we are living better but our kids also becoming like village days where school is far away…now worse, jams and reckless drivers…

There is no 2 way… we all hope our kids gets the best education but i think most of us will also consider our kids health? no? have to wake up earlier, by the time they reach school, energy starts to decline liao… go home still must do homework, etc… tuitions, weekends music art, etc etc lessons…poor kids. kids cant be grilled too much… our kids nowadays are already under too much stress from society… why are parents adding that stress…

I do see alot of good schools in almost all the estates…so i hope parents will consider this over reputation or pride…i think its their education but u dont want to stress them too much!

anyhow, teachers and school only plays 40% of how a kids progress academically, i think parents still play a very big part at almost 50%. the remaining 10% i think its really the kids’ own strength.

I see some parents aldy got confirm seats but still wanna consider.
others desperate to get a single seat cos its near to their house.
then the rest are really at a loss…
kinda sad…why r we stressing ourselves so much…

Latest on MGS. All 41 applicants within 1 km have been accepted as two of them are twins. This is confirmed by MOE. What a great relief.

Apparently same situation in ACS too. One pair of twins so no ballot required for <1km - all admitted (48 applicants vs 47 vacancies).

Nope im within 2km, just like you.
But I will still complete my hrs..and pray for the best next yr..
hopefully not as jia lat as this..
can only do so much, all in God's hands.

Thanks for the great info! NH has 28 applicants for 15 seats. So if there are many PRs in that 28 applicants, the 15 Sporean will all get in without balloting..right?

How about phase 2C? Will the same above rule applies? Can I say the non-sporean outside 1km, shouldnt bother to even register?

Just called NCPS again, they say 2 vacancies left for 1-2km balloting but not sure how many are within this distance.
