Hmm. Exact filling of quotas smacks of \"first come first served\". I hope nobody was turned way on this pretext, as it is against the rules.

Given Singaporean parents' aggressiveness when it comes to their kids, I highly doubt anyone would take it lying down. The school CANNOT turn eligible parents away. Any eligible parent who got turned away would have grounds for legitimate complaint. It is probably that some parents withdrew or decided to register somewhere else once they realized got to ballot. So at the end of the day, how big is your risk appetite. This year's parents seem to be quite adept at this strategizing. Maybe learned from previous years.
I was also wondering aloud to my hubby just this morning.

I asked him how is it that there are 41 places and 46 registered for kh... and all sc gets in.... umean so coincidental.... 41 sc and 5 pr applied? that's why wanted to find out the breakdown but no one was able to help. same for the other schools... i also wondered. hope someone can enlighten us.

It's just good planning and management by the schools. Kudos to them.

But how exactly does a school plan for something like this? Limiting the number of PVs - yes. That works. But there are also clan and church and grassroots affiliations. You can't plan for those. I kinda have to agree with the person who said that MOE may be trying to minimise balloting, so as not to cause alarm and give the impression that the numbers are not out of control. I think in some cases, they must have let in more than the stipulated number of spaces available. JMO.
Yes, so how many more can a school let in, 2,3,4? :?

Maybe some who registered are on long leave of absence?
As in currently overseas and only coming back in P2/P3?
In this case, can let a few more in first?

How do the schools check the distance ? Do they use ‘one map’? Asking because, there is minor difference in distances on streetdirectory, google & one map. Please let me know.

              I think \"OneMap\" is official.
I saw they have a thick book with addresses printed in alphabetical order to check against.

Thanks stonston & tankee. Big relief as the distance to the school shown on google is 2.1 km & one map is 1.9km !

FAQ has this answer, can follow the steps listed in MOE website to see the area.

Anyone knows what time balloting at Ai Tong is ?.

Pardon me, I am puzzled why some parents here asked about balloting time. If you are one of them, you should know since you would have received the letter from school. If you are not, why bother to find out the details?
